I just saw some pictures in a article on the new silverado ss. It says it is 340 HP. It is also extended cab. To be honest it is ugly as crap. Im sure somebody else has seen these trucks, positive they dont have a chance against Ford's beast of a truck!!!

That blue is about the worst color they could show that truck off in. All black or a dark read look much better. The front is ugly and would need some aftermarket help.

Otherwise this truck is a nice idea. I always wished for a Lightning built from an extended cab (not crew) F150. I'm not a big fan of the s-crew looks. The first year harley's were the best IMHO.

 

If you want practicality, get an SS or a Harley. SVT made the right decision with short cab/narrow bed. 4,700 lbs. is already way too heavy.

People around here spend big $$$ just to get a few more HP. Think of how much money you would need to spend to offset a 1,000 lb weight penalty!

 

Id buy one of those before Id buy lightning, better ride... more room, looks better.

 

I like the '93 SS comparision to the L. Hell a stock 5.4 truck is stronger (Since they didn't include an RPM with the torque number it probably isn't realistic).

I especially like this from the article:

"Don't expect to see the SS play with the Ford SVT F-150 Lightning or upcoming Dodge Ram SRT-10 out of the box. It's not going to happen without some aftermarket help."
