03 Silverado SS
hmm
The 03 SS of course isnt for speed its for the people who like the HP gain and to be able to carry a family or haul. The thing you lighting guys will have to fear will of course be the new SRT-10 isnt that a power house.
Those intakes on the front are brake coolers what i've read.
The SRT-10 is going to kick some major *** and i've heard rumors that its only gonna cost around $36,000 not that high for 500HP and 500 Torque

Dodge SRT-10 Peformance
0-60 mph 5.0 sec.
0-80 mph 9.0 sec.
Standing 1/4 mile 12.9 sec. @106 mph
0-100-0 mph 18 sec.
Lateral acceleration 0.92 g
Slalom 69 mph
I'm not very happy to see this, looks like I'll be forking out to $$ for that KB after all.
I'll be damned if I let one of those toaster grills spank my butt.

I heard it was going to be around $45,000. But here's some good sites on the SRT-10.

The V10's power outguns the current full-size pickup performance champ, the SVT F-150 Ford Lightning's 380-hp / 450ft-lb. 5.4-liter V8.
While pricing has not been announced Deneau added it will be competitive with the Lightning. And, unlike the Lightning's 5500 unit limit, there will be no ceiling to the number of SRT-10's produced each year.
Says it will be competitive price with the L so im sure it will be close to it. but a hella lot faster stock.. probly be sweet with soem bolt ons and a chip.

Under the surface, PUTC's sources are also reporting that Chrysler PVO has gone to great lengths to reduce the truck's weight using high amounts of alloy materials and special framing construction. The end result should be a truck that weighs less than the Ford SVT F-150 Lightning.
"In the sport truck segment, we might be accused of stacking the deck against the competition," said Wolfgang Bernhard, Chief Operating Officer, Chrysler Group. "But why not when you have ten aces up your sleeve? We set out to create the boldest, baddest and fastest pickup truck ever, and that is exactly what we have done."

Just an FYI though with comparing the SRT-10 with the Lightning NOW...
Keep in mind with all this talk of "alloy" this and lightweight that, plus the fact that it uses a motor that is probably upwards of $10K for a crate version, it will more than likely be well above the $34K mark of a "L".
Don't get me wrong, I think it is great that Lightnings get some competition, and the fact that Dodge, and/ or Chevy are all willing to make these vehicles is outstanding!
Two other small items...
I have already read rumors that the 2005 Lightning will have 500HP as well. Of course this is all speculation, so we'll see?
I will be congratulating the first SRT driver that can launch correctly on the "street" with 500ft/lbs of torque and a manual without liquefying thier tires...
Of course I will probably eat my words, but it should be interesting to watch!

It's hard to put a realistic price on vapourware.
