This is what I'm talking about! Someone just can't let another have an opinion.

Odin's Wrath
No flames; but, here are some reminders of what was actually going on 1.5 years ago and longer. This is not new. At least the search police (That wonderful institution ) have become less brutal.
Odin, ITS MY OPINION! GET IT? If you don't agree then fine. I think the board was less political then than now. You show a few threads. That doesn't show the over-all attitude back then. This board isn't the cool board it was a few years ago. To many people trying to prove their tuner is better and or my opinion is more highly reguarded than yours crap!

Just can't post without someone having some negative response in one way or another. We are all never going to agree on the same things. I don't have to go back in the search and pull up past threads to prove my point. I'm not here to prove a thing.

I'm here to help, learn and to get along. Not debate the small stuff!!!

I think the biggest problem is "Testosterone" and you should never ever post during a full moon.

Thor01,

That was MY opinion. I wasn't trying to degrade you in anyway. That's the problem with written messages. It's easy to be misunderstood. I've been around for almost a year and a half now and remember the site being less friendly then. New members were treated rudely and JDM was on open contract for any negative comment the members could generate against them. It almost seemed encouraged. Doug kept things under control; but, there were a lot more negative comments toward JDM then than now. I remember Spiro having a "VERY" special place in his heart for Jim at JDM at the time. Many others echoed his sentiments. It does seem to run in cycles, as Sal said. One tuner catches it for a while, then another. What I've noticed, and many may not agree, is that if you look at the date that a negative poster registered on the site, you'll see just as many of the old guys bashing as the new. If you throw out poor service posts, you'll see more negative posts from the older members. And not just tuner bashing either.

I'm no angel. I tend to speak up when I see something I don't like, or when I have an opinion or knowledge that I think applies. This tends to rub some people the wrong way. I try to be fair though and I'll admit that I did not word my reply to you in a way that prevented friction between us. I do get the feeling that you don't feel anyone should comment on your opinions at all. In an open forum the only opinion that is going to go uncommented upon, is the one you keep to yourself.

I've heard many "old timers" comment on how much better the site was in years past. I'm sure it's true, or so many would not say it. But in the time I have been here, I have seen improvement in the site. I've seen things get better, not worse. Maybe there is some hope for even more improvement in the future if we can all accept that this is not the same site it was 2-3 years ago, and it most likely never will be. What we do in the "now" will determine how the future is shaped. Lamenting a rosier past doesn't change the present in the slightest.

Sorry for another long post.

Roger

Odin,
I'm not looking to have friction between me & you or any other member here. I respect your opinion and I may not agree, we still share the same enthusiasm for the Lightning as others here.

I'm not one to go out of my way to prove anyone wrong or try to chang their opinion, belief's or otherwise. If the person says this is what they think. Fine, I won't go and find ammo to prove them wrong.

That's all. I agree spiro and JDM took up space on the server back then. But, I think overall most didn't have a tuner loyalty giong as strong back then as today.

I think the board and the people have a ways to go before the light comes on and realize we are all for the for the same thing.

Were all Americans and are pridefull people with an American built sport truck. We take pride in owning that, I think! We just need to respect and be courteous of others here. Even if we don't agree on tuners, customer service. It's about the Lightning!!

I personnaly think some are blowing off steam (aka, stress) here and not using a punching bag! Maybe they don't realize it or mean to be offensive. Just my observation.

Dave.

I'd say that is pretty much right on the money. As far as friction goes, I'm cool. Anything short of name calling and insults is just debate for me. I like the interaction.
