Come on Sal, we know you've been wrestling on the side to get all those gold chains and Ferraris

This post wasn't nearly as bad as some of the others have been; but, if they have a point to make about this forum, they should make it without insulting us as part of the message.
Very true, but also this post against us has come completely out of left field. There have not been any big bashing or *tuner/washer/etc. wars* lately. It would have been different if this was posted when everyone was in defense of there tuner.

The thing that gets me is we all have the same hobby and same trucks with basically the same intentions of making these trucks perform and look better. So-be it what parts you choose from which vendor. When I decided to go with the Vortech over a ProCharger does that mean that Procharger is a bad supercharger? Not at all I just prefered the Vortech. Do I bash PoCharger? Nope!!! I feel that certain people go with certain products for their own personal reasons. Too bad everyone didn't think this way. Hopefully things will change back the way they were and everyone will just try helping eachother out. Hopefully people can put their egos aside and just help everyone else out.

I agree with you Sal! I don't post much on here anymore b/c of the B/S arguing. People jump on others here way too easy. For what?

This board was at it's best a year and a half ago, IMOP!. People respected others opinion and were courteous. Don't know what happened here? Some where ego's got in the way maybe?

For those who have been around from 00 and up know what I'm talking about. < Flame suit on!!>

Unhappy

the biggest problem we have with tuner worship, on this board, is customers that have the ability to meet and work with any of the actual tuners, want to preach their capabilities, to the 99.5% of Lightning owners that cannot do this. they believe, that because their neighbor, dyno tuned their truck to perfection, i should buy mail-order products from him also. there is nothing wrong with telling a newbie, that if he's in the NJ area,, look up Jim, or NY area,, try to get your truck to Sal, or REM if you can't figuire out a ballot card ,,, they are all perfectly capable.

I can see your point, but I am proud that I have been doing this longer than anyone else, and that was also relevent towards my statement. Before there were any other Lightning vendors, there was no reason for this kind of behavior. Sure there was some minor bickering over different parts people were running, but back then people were not loyal to one specific company, they were loyal to the TRUCKS and having fun in them. Back then we were all figuring out what works, and sharing information. Now, we all know what works, so it's turned to "my stuff is better than your stuff, and your stuff sucks because mine came from vendor xxxx", when it all does the same thing. I guess the de-evolution of the community was inveable, but there are those here that just make it worse.

No flames; but, here are some reminders of what was actually going on 1.5 years ago and longer. This is not new. At least the search police (That wonderful institution ) have become less brutal.

So true. I wish there was someone local that could do the same for me. Sending off my chip for an estimated reburn is not the ideal way to tune a truck.

Pete, the bashing comes and goes in cycles. The board will be mellow for a few weeks, then a bash fest will break out. Actually, it's not even a bash fest. It's more one person will say something somebody else takes offesnse to, and the rest of the board breaks out in chaos. Usually revolves around customers overly defending their tuners. Stick around for a while, you'll see how it comes and goes. This board was really nice a few years back, but now there are so many vendors to "defend" and everyone takes sides. You have to proof-read everything you say, and over-analyze it, because the slightest misplaced word or punctuation can throw the board into a frezy. It's really kind of sad, a bit stressfull. I sure miss the good old days when I was the only Lightning vendor around, and we were all mostly a big happy family that discussed the TRUCKS not the politics.

Sal, this post is exactly what I am talking about. I'm not saying tuner wars meaning back and forth go rounds... I'm tired of reading all the small bashing that comes and go... the defending.

I do remember back in 99' when there wasn't as many tuners, I do remember you being one of the first and foremost. You had your fair share of production problems in the beginning and I see where it is hard to start a company and to keep up with the demand.

After all the tuners came around, choas struck.

The point I was making is all this bickering is getting real old. You can see the point I'm making whent the top couple of responses was like "go **** and get out of here" and "if you had a lightning" and such. You Lightning owners are the ones who make yourself look bad, just as blowntruck stated.

I am not offended by what anyone posts here about me, go ahead and keep flaming...

I will keep my V6 truck because I'm happy w/ it. I was approved for a 35,000 loan from ford w/ the advertised APR, I did indeed look at the Lightnings when I traded my 00 in. Some of the local HALO members would know, as I was looking for a good deal for a couple of months. I went ahead and got the 5spd and I'm happy w/ it.

Carry on all you well mannerd Lighting owners

Sal, and Odin's Wrath... Thanks for your understanding and your ability to read without getting offended!

I agree with you. You have to be so politically correct in what you say around here (you much more than me).............
It's that way with everything in life: Politics, religion, school pride, and of course tuner pride. It's just a validation for people so they feel like they have spent there money wisely.
Let's face it we are all imature or we wouldn't be playing with toys in the first place. So, acting like school children is perfectly fine behavior
My dad is bigger than your dad, my L is faster, pretty, shinyier, better color, better chip pulley blower tires headliner wheelstuds stero ***** floormats than yours.
All pretty stupid huh?

My tuner is the best because HE'S BAD and HE'S NATIONWIDE. He goes by many names or something.

Look at my DYNO DAY post to figure out who he is.

I had a similar experience with B. B. King in a truck stop outside of Atlanta. He was autographing CD covers for some of the truckers that recognized him there. They were blocking the door and I needed to leave. I suggested they take the circus to a different tent. Mr. King seemed to appreciate being treated like a regular guy............ The truckers probably wanted to whoop my a$$. I was gone by the time they got over the initial shock.
