I got news for you John, looking at those pictures, the Metco loop is farther back than our PSP (or JL) loop is. And besides, NHRA rules say the loop can't be more than 6 inches back from the front U-joint, so I still don't see your point on why the Metco one is better than any other.

I think any of the loops will work just fine. I hope I never need it, but it is nice to know it will work.

Durring my time at the track, I have seen guys drop driveshafts. All 3 of them did the job. So use the one you want.

Jack,

Buy the Metco.
Your truck is already drilled for it.

Ruslow sells a drive shaft loop that is probably 2 times thicker steel than any of the above listed drive shaft loops. It is a one piece design also. I have used the JL loop and currently use the metco loop. I like the metco because it doesn't get in the way of the mufflers like the JL loop did(I used some washers to lower the loop and it worked fine.)

Are you sure? Did they come out with a no drill design? I had to drill mine.

edit: nevermind, I'm guessing he has a used used truck which had a metco dsloop in it?

Its a freakin driveshaft loop, do you realise how foolish you look professing that one is better than the other, especially when the one your professing to be better bolts to the floorboard as opposed to the frame?

I think you deserve the award, im sure someone will post it soon

The metco does go through the floorboard, but I wouldn't worry about it. It's pretty heavy duty where it goes through...

Well said, I didn't think my truck had a "flimsy floorboard" in it, anyway I'll just stick with the Metco loop, run whatever you want that makes you happy, John H.

Question

Is there only one need towards the front? (for track leagality)

Thanks, WOT

it's only needed at the front since you don't want the front coming down and pole vaulting the back end up into the air.

The reason for front only required, is because in the event of the front joint failure, the falling driveshaft can dig into the ground and actually catapult the vehicle. If the rear fails, it can cause vehicle damage, but will not cause loss of control of the car.

this may be overkill (or not) but how about also having a loop for the REAR since this is where most our driveshafts break. (knock knock)

The undercarriage and gas tank take a tremendous amount of abuse when these let go.

Traction devices obviously address the axle wrap issue BUT...

JMHO.

Back to you regularly scheduled bashing, or something..
