Why such arrogance from Lightning owners?

I can't believe how some of you react to a person using Lighning badges on a vehicle. You real lighning owners have an awesome vehicle and don't need to be so insecure about yourself that you would actually think about keying another persons vehicle because they have a lightning badge on their truck. If a person bought the vehicle and thought they were getting a lightning, then I would say that person is pretty stupid. I say grow up and let it go, the majority of car connoisseurs know what's real and what isn't. If a person wants to play dress up and make a look a like, then so be it. Don't you know that copying is the sincerest form of flattery?

Isn't it possible that the guy just has a good sense of humor?

I have an old Lincoln emblem stuck to one of my tool boxes in my garage but it doesn't mean I think I'll fool people into thinking it's a Town Car.

I think the problem Lightning owners have with putting Lightning badges on non-Lightnings, is that those are probably the vehicles that contribute to the "My (WRX, Civic, Eclipse, Hyundai, Yugo, etc) just blew away a Lightning!!" type posts on the "other" forums.

Ok you guys need to get a life

Keying someones car, come on, how the hell would you feel if i keyed your car? How would you feel if I keyed your car just enough that it wasnt covered by your deductable? Some people are just mod crazy, it doesent have to be right, but ITS THEIR CAR, so they can do whatever the hell they want to with it, and it should not concern you in the least. Mind your own ********** buisness and go out and get a life, so you have a lightning, so what.

No, it isn't flattery. It's just sad. It's like putting "SS" badges on a 6 cylinder Camaro, or "AMG" badges on an C230, or "M" badges on a 318ti, or "type-R" badges on Civic HX.

If he wanted to make other people impressed with the power of his truck, why not just put a "Powered by Rolls Royce Merlin", "GE Turbines", or "JATO" on the fender?

Well, that badge happens to be on an Excursion, or it might be a 250 with running boards, hard to tell, but either way, I'm pretty sure they both cost more than a Lightning .

The window gives it away

The window gives the superduty/excursion away.

**** Best thing about people putting lightning badges on their trucks......no one can seem to put them on straight!!!!

Keying other peoples vehicles very rarely comes up here. Most of the guys here have owned a POS, at one time or another in their life, and not only appreciate what they have, but worked hard to be able to afford it. They would be ashamed to have anyone think they were capable of defacing someone else's property.

As far as lightning badges on non Lightning's........ I think it is in poor taste. It's sort of like a guy with a 3 hair comb-over and a plaid leisure suit. People are gonna say something.

Thank's for the way to spot one.My 99L an 02L are the
first Fords I've ever owned. maybe I should not say this
but chevy's is all I had for the last 20 years street cars,
Race cars, Trucks. So I'am little slow with Fords.

But the Lightnings are some of Coolest I've owned!!!!!

I am one up that one... there is a 2000 model F-150 that comes into the dealer where I work and he has a v-6 in it with an automatic. this thing has the stock ride height with all the lightning ground effects including front facia... To further the blow it has the '01 '02 style rims and F1's and the clear tail lights.... He has the chrome trim on the outside of his mirrors and the rear bumper is chrome. Interior is factory cloth from the 6 cyl. Oh, and yes it has the lightning badging in all proper locations.... was in the other day to have an engine replaced.... I can only wonder what this guy is doing to that poor truck. If it ever comes back I will try to take pics

It's actually an F250 Superduty with a 5.4L. The guy had dual pipes running out the back, I don't know what kind of mufflers but it did not sound very good. Typical "Bubba Pipes".
