Slight fit problem...

I just got my sub tonight and I took it out to do a quick test fit...and it appears that the cup holder/ash tray will not open due to slight blockage by the sub. I you pull out cup holders and then fit sub...it appears to fit well...but then you can't push in the cup holders. I have an 02 Supercrew 4x4 and the transmission hump appears to be slightly larger than the lightning humps. Anybody with a 4x4 Supercrew trying to make this thing fit?

I think I will hook it up and check the sound...If I like it, I will attempt to due a little trim on the box just below the cupholders...I don't think the trim job will be noticable due to the way the cup holder is rounded and protrudes slightly when closed.

No special tools are needed to remove the radio. Like everyone has said before, just cut the straight section off of a coat hanger and bend it into a "u". You will need one for each side, and just stick them in about 1.5 inches. Then push them to the outside of the radio. You are just trying to push in the four tabs that are on the sides of the radio. Trick is actually pulling the radio out, but that is best done with a finger in the tape slot.

I know this is just repeating what was probably said before, but don't sweat not getting the tools.

95,

Autozone carries the Ford Din Radio removal tool for $3.99. I tried the coat hanger/drill bit/nail/screw routine first without success(and w/o damaging anything) before I bought the tool.

After putting in the sub I'm now shopping UBid and EBay for tweets.

Man, the hangar thing really isn't that easy; get the tool. I kinda' gauled the faceplate a little. It seems you have to try and swing the tools to the outside to draw the hold clips into the radio. Overall, a very nice sub for the price. I'm not dissappointed, at all. Gordon sounds GREAT! A good test is to tune in a rap staion; they have plenty of woofer source there.

Completed Clarion Sub Install

I completed my install last night and I'm really happy with the results. The sub really adds some good low end to the stock system. Plus, if I put my Pioneer P930 head unit in, it I can use the pre-amp outputs on my head unit and still use the Clarion unit!

Pretty cool deal!

Got mine tonight :o) Dam that little sucker does have some kick.
Thanks for all the info, easy mod, big bass differance, I can live with this, makes it sound much much better than stock. Sucks giving up the middle seat but I guess I already had a removable console there so it's not the end of the world. Although I liked being able to remove the console and throw it in the back to take on another passenger.

Do you think they sell a harness extention so I can mount it behind the seats instead of the hump ?????

Anyone ????
