Question Plug question

Is this what a Denso plug is supposed to look like after a couple of thousand miles?

That's right, I put the Tr-6's back in at a .040 gap...

I'm putting my old plugs back in also. I drove around on the IT 24's all day yesterday and by the end on the day 300 miles, they are starting to foul out already. the IT24's must be way to cold for my truck I guess, but I'm going back to TR6's also, atleast until I spray the truck.

what pulley's are you running on your truck? I think your the same as me with a 4lb lower and 2lb upper right?

6lb lower and 100 shot of nitrous. Going to 150 and metco upper. It has been running a little rough, I thought it was the plugs(cold,) I'm glad I got those waste of money plugs out as soon as I did.
Did you see the insulator? That's right it broke right off into the combustion chamber. The iridium electrode is bent a little and the outer tip has been burnt off a little...

The green color and speckles is a classic sign of way too lean. Sorry Easter, but don't be blaming the plug. The way that electrode is burned, the green discoloration, and the missing insulator ceramic means your very lean, and detonating pretty hard.

I had a problem with my IT 24's too. After a few hundred miles I had a miss, I changed them out for NGK BR7EF's.. That's waaay too much money to waste on a set of plugs that were recommended for my mods... ....JR

Cool

Thank God your motor got out of that one alive. It's not always a happy ending when a plug comes apart.

I have had a mechanic ride with me and they hear no detonation. The auto tap shows no misfires and that I am way rich. The other plugs look good. This plug was taken from the #6 cylinder. I have them gapped at .032. They are IT-24's
If detonation is audible then I have no detonation. If it is silent I just don't know.

You might have a problem with that one cylinder. Autotap is not going to show you accurate A/F, and the misfire monitor in the factory PCM is a joke. I've had cars with multiple dead cylinders when I worked at the dealer show no misfires.

No doubt you had some detonation to do that to the it24. ive ran upwards of 24# of boost with no problems with them. however i do not reccomend the 24's for daily drivers. the plug is a very cold plug and will start to foul out with constant low rpm drives. the 22's are reccomended up to 18# of boost from the testing ive done with these plugs...JL

This is one of the TR-6's I replaced the Densos with this afternoon. I guess it is a cylinder problem...Only #6 has this problem...
