Does the Lightnging have a lot of problems?
My 01 L has 3,000 miles, and no major problems so far. Only little things, like rear panel rattling, rear window seal peeking out, rusty hard parts underneath, wimpy sounding horn, and loose foglights. I don't race mine or pull things with it though. But I only baby it until the temp gauge says 'go'
well i still didnt get my truck back!!!!
the dealer said monday. i went to go see the truck and it was hard for me to look at because the engine was not all put togeter. well we'll see monday what happens

'00 L, stock except for K&N air filter.
35000 miles
Clunk (noticed, but wouldn't have thought much of it had it not been for this board.) Taken in once - still there but don't care!
Seat Bolster (would'nt have noticed until much later had it not been for this board.) Seat covers replaced under warranty w/repair.
Waiting until the last minute to replace s/c - no leaks yet!
Oh Yeah, 20" Akuza Icor wheels w/ 295-40-20"s.

The drivers (and passengers) outside seat bolster has a steel rod surrounded by foam. As you slide into the truck the steel rod gradually cuts into the foam, eventually going all the way through and starts to press on the suede causing a dark line and, eventually, could rub through the suede.

the 03's ? will have better design.....
Um, not unless you consider these alot of problems.
1. Intercooler replacement(had to go in 3 times before it was fixed before it was recall)
2. Rough idle that they still havent fixed
3. Clunk
4. Cracked foglights
5. Seat ripping
6. Sliding window handle popping off
7. Slow driver side window motor
8. Leaking Radiator
9. *****ty internals
Hasnt happened to me but: There have been many people on the boards blowing engines, transmissions, ect...
All other problems I've had have been caused by aftermarket parts

I think the biggest problem the L has is rear tire wear.
#2 prolly would be roadside conversations with police.
#3 would be trying to remove $h!teating grin from drivers face.
#4 is waiting for the next larger pulley to come out.
I miss any?
