Lighting the tires....

Alright guys, I am getting a little mad....sometimes you just want to lay a patch or smoke the tires, thus far I am having NO LUCK....haha.

So what are the tricks of the trade, do you just floor it (doesn't work for me) or have I just not found that spot in the throttle. To tell the truth its hard to get them to more than chirp or lay a little patch, granted its great at the strip and the light, but darn it I have 380 HP I want to smoke a couple goodyears....what am I doing wrong??

Hold your brake down and rev it high into the RPMs... itll break loose... believe me, ive done it before... but after seeing how much F1's cost, ive changed my driving habbits and stopped lighting them up...

If it want do it ...just hold the brake a bit till it starts rolling out...
it will not hurt the rear brakes because the anti-lock sensors back off the pads...and after you burn about half the meat off...you`ll be able to light em up...You could possibly be spinning so fast that the smoke is disappated.....laugh

Mine will burn without cheating even with brand new F-1's. like I said above...if your gonna cheat....don`t tell anyone. The idea is really to lauch without lightin` em up....if you wanna win..
But everyone likes to showboat these daze.

I wish I had your problem. From day one mine smoked the tires without holding the brake. Now with a pulley and chip it's hard to get a quick start. Be glad. F1s aren't cheap.

It'll loosen up with some miles. I'm sure a chip, air filter, and pulley would help roast 'em off.

Get 5k miles on it, and get some mods... I smoke my tires well into 2nd with no brake... I just have to mash from a stop...

My L's power is growing everyday with more miles... I'm at 7k now...

I smoked mine for the first time the other day leaving work! I held the brake down, got them to turn over about 3-4 times, let off the brake, and stomped it!Smoke was rolling over the bed! It spun for the longest,i loved it,but i cant make it a habit because i know how much the f-1's are,cuz i help make them, and i get a discount, and they are still high as hell.

Heehee, me too! At 21K my original F1's are toast, but since I've got a brand new set sitting in the basement, it's time to W-A-S-T-E these fuggers!

As Sammy sings: " One foot on the brake, and one on the gas - Hey!" - - right into 2nd gear before I let the brake go and start moving,, while the tail end wags.

What Dr.D said....

You should be able to just floor and spin them, atleast thats what happened to me..if not hold the break, give it gas and hold on.

I like to put it in nutural, rev it to 6000 and drop it in drive with my foot to the floor. That will usually lay some good rubber. Give it a shot.

You need mods, and some mileage on the truck. My truck has 19K miles and I'm buying my third set of tires for the rear this week....

I love to spin those F-1's off!!!
