I HAD A TY..

I had a 92 typhoon. I ran 13.7x-13.8x stock all the time any weather little faster in the cold.
I did do some mods mostly bolt ons @ first and ran 12.8x then went for a custom down tube,ic,and heads and low 12's. but the truck was junk went threw lemon laws before mods. I will tell you you are not gonna get one off the line with et-streets or f1's stock 60' are nasty on ty's and sy's. but good news is they also dont go over 126 mph unless you modified trucks computer it interupts spark. Oh well but there still pretty amazing concidering there 10+ yrs old and still kickin some a$$

With the Syclones/Typhoons 10 years old now...it really depends on how the people kept them up.

Stock Ty should run a low 14 when stock. A stock Sy should run a mid- high 13.

But they are turbocharged , they are all wheel drive - and they respond decently to a knowledgeable person.

Just like anything - there are fast ones and slow ones. There are some you wouldnt want to run up against.

I got my Ty to run 13.6 with basic mods. My Sy ran 13.2 though the stock airbox , and a horrible exhaust. The quickest stock turbo Sy I saw ran a 12.2 . There are plenty of stock turbo ones in the mid 12's.

My experiences have shown me that

STOCK VS. STOCK
Lightnings and Typhoons are pretty damn even. We are talking bone stock. The Lightning doesn't have a chance against the Syclone tho. We are still talking bone stock.

Same experience here Wendy

My friend bought his back in '96 with 20,000 miles on it. He had big intentions of installing a bunch of Kenne Belle and ATR parts on it, but it basically stayed stock, with the exception of a K&N. We raced many times, with no clear dominance for one or the other. I'd planned on getting me a chip and pulley and spanking his a$$ good, then lying and saying I was still stock. That can't happen since he sold it

I purchased my Syclone new in '92 as a leftover. In 70 degree, super humid weather it went 13.60/96mph with a ZERO psi launch - Stock. With 5 psi off the line I'm sure there was another 2 tenths in it easy.

The time in my sig was on the stock engine w/ bolt-ons. Basically bigger turbo, air2air I/C, stall converter, chip, intake and exhaust. Still original Firehawk tires too. 1.7 60', 7.65 in the 1/8th

Funny thing is once you build one to be capable of 10 second 1/4's, it really isn't too much faster in the 1/8th. It just makes the top end scream.

Thought you would never ask....

My brother has a syclone, my dad a typhoon. Both mint less than 15 K each

I raced my brother my stock to his chiped. From the get go, I thought where did he go? Then after a 60 ft I started to charge. If you have a good driver in a syclone then you will be about even in a 1/4 (I think the stock syclone was a little faster than my 99, so 01's should be fine)

With the right driver in a syclone, you'll never get a faster 60ft time in *any* L. But then again once you hit 65mph in a syc you'll see them just about stop.

as for my dads typh... haven't dared race him, he has wayyy too much money and wayyy too much time. But yes, my friend, one day he'll be mine. oh yes, it will happen.

the plan is to outlive them all and inherit them!

Turbo-terror !!!

There are several Syclones out there with lots of mods running 10 second ET's, they are the truck version of the Buick Grand Nationals, so watch out, they can be deadly, John H.

I raced a bone stock Syclone in May at Englishtown.
It was a blk truck and he ran a 14.1 to my 14.0 on our first run then he ran a 13.9 and I did another 14.0
We talked for awhile and he seemed like a nice guy.
They are fast when stock but it is a small truck still, I looked inside and the only thing he had that seem to seperate it from other trucks was a Logo on his seats and boost Gauge.
he said the truck was low mileage and this was his first time taking it to the track.
My truck is pretty modified though still N/A, he was talking about changing his exhaust to make more power. I like the looks of the truck, though I still like the full size trucks better.
