?'s for those who have towed with L

Just bought a toy to play with at the Lake of the Ozarks, a 20' Sea Ray that weighs 2500 lbs, and wondered if there is anything special I need to do when I take it out there, drive with the overdrive off, other tips when driving, etc? Also which style bar should I get for the receiver, the flat or the dropped. If anyone knows a cheap place to get this stuff let me know.

Thanx,
Bill

Yep, that's what I did also.

You shouldn't have to worry about turning the O/D off. Only turn it off if it is "hunting" for gears, i.e. shifting from 3rd to O/D back to 3rd etc...

OD off when towing...

That way the tranny stays cooler for the additional load from towing.

You'll spend a little more in gas, but that's a helluva lot better than buying a new tranny.....

I have my truck lowered with 2" shackles and towed my 20' car hualer with a 6000# 85 Ford Bronco 4x4. It pulled like a dream, even without trailer brakes. I have to use a raise hitch to level out when I use my motorcycle trailer.

Thanx for the info guys, that's pretty much what i needed to know. Wannanicecar, yeah I don't think I'm going to want to utilize that launching technique with my new toy hooked to my other toy, it was good for a laugh though .
