Lightbulb Re my connecting Rods

I just spoke to Aaron who goes by Whip on the boards.

He was at JDM the weekend before I picked up my truck. I asked him if he saw my engine, and this is what he told me.

He saw shaun torquing down the heads and had him flip the engine around so he could see the bottom end. He told me it definatly had Manley connectiong rods, with JDM stencilled on them.

So my advice if you haven't seen something with your own eyes keep you damn mouth shut. Because of this I had a very restless night, worring about my motor. Lets keep these boards civil, and stop thes Mudd Slinging.

Don,

Maybe Shaun had a magic marker in his hand ??? As Mr.Carlin once said "Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things". So true.

For the rest of you ...
I propose that we all mind our own f'ing beeswax from now and we all worry about our own trucks not somebody else's. Deal ??

New motto: " If it's not happening to me, it's not happening "

******* YOU AND GOOD NIGHT !!!!!!!!!

{there, a better, more concise reply}

First off Don, I'm sorry you had to go through all this mess. I've seen alot of goons come and go from these boards in the 4+ years I've been here. You, like alot of us on this board are enthusiasts who cherish the rides that we work hard for and I personally would be upset also if someone inclined that I didn't get what I paid for.

And as for Mr. Rob, it is people like you with YOUR attitude that make this world a PITA sometimes. As the old saying goes, 'what goes around...."

It is obvious that some people are envious and/or jealous that Don has the jack to be spending on his ride, for pleasure purposes.

Mr.Frank,

My comments ARE NOT meant for Don. Don is a really good guy that doesn't deserve to have his name mentioned in some petty " he-said-she-said" BS threads by people that do not have first hand knowledge of the facts. I hope I cleared that up a bit.

THIS was meant for the general public...

MisterP,

I saw your truck also but it's not been a good day so I apologize for not being social. A bunch of truck folks are meeting up at Strat's Drive-In in Villa Park on North Ave. tomorrow. Why don't you stop by, I'll be a happy camper

RobG is a class act guy. After only meeting him 2 times he let me borrow his custom made Boyd coddington rims to use as racing rims. Now what does that say?

RobG,

Mind my Beezwax. I Don't have any bees to mind to. So I guess I'll just admire your truck.

RobG is a nice guy. MisterP, If he didn't acknowledge you, he probably didn't do it on purpose.

Hey Don,

"The Pawn" said he saw your rods before JDM put them in. IF he said he saw it with his own eyes , then it must be true, Daniel is a straight shooter like RobG.

If you are worried, you can always drop the oil pan and inspect the rods with your own eyes.

Don's Rods.....

I think Don trusts in Jim and the JDM crew enough to not have to pull the pan and check it. If the motor blows and get pulled apart and does have stock rods.......then there's a problem. I for one believe that JDM put the rods in there and no body else has any good factual reason to doubt it. Some people are right, people are jealous. I for one am!!! I got the pleasure of driving Don's truck the day he brought it home from JDM. Motor wasn't even broken it and had a mild break in program on the chip, and it felt wayyy more powerfull than my stock truck at the time. Don has been discouraged during this whole build up a few times but when your kinda the guinnea pig ......things happen. I'm sure Don will get his blower put on and we'll be seeing his new 11 second times soon!!! Lets start looking out for one another like Rich did and stop raining on everyone's parade.

I don't know about that, there is a rumour going around that the manley rods are knock-offs. The easy way to tell is by looking at the rods themselves which will say 'JDN' not 'JDM' like the real ones, or something ...

Don - sorry you had to go throught cr@p, and on the bright side of it you did learn who is a standup guy

It's the same way when someone smokes an engine. Look at the Spanky/JDM/JJ/whoever engine chip issue. The engine broke, so fix it. The public does not need to know which tuner you want to hold responsible and threads like that should be deleted. People start frenzy feeding. Not very nice and a lot of apologies to make if you're wrong.
BTW, I don't blame anyone and I didn't mean for this to start another frenzy.

Don,
I am also glad that you have recieved confirmation from a couple of different and reliable sources that you do have the Manley Rods. It really is to bad that some people have nothing better to do than try to give someone doubt on their own truck. I am sure it is what you paid for and will get you to the goals that you have set for yourself. Good luck with everything and I will see you soon.

Thanks Guys

I am feeling much better now, since then I found at least 3 guys who saw my engine going together who saw the Manley connecting rods.

I wish I could say exactly how these rumors got started, I talked to the three guys who were involved but got different versions of the story from each one. We all agreed to put this behind us, and stay friends. I may even try to go to both evennts later this month to show I have no hard feelings.

Rob I hope you are feeling better, and I knew you were not trying to bash me, are you going to FFW this month I would love to meet you there.

Lets all put these rumors to bed amd move on.

Don

Hey did I miss something???
Did someone say Don didn't have Manley rods? I know Jim wouldn't do anyone like that? While I was putting my oil pump, tube, and pan on I saw JDM Engineering on the side of my rods and Manley stamped on the bottom of the pistons. Also had ARP stamped on the main bolts. I know he done it right.
I just wish he would mail my sheets on my block where it was balanced and blueprinted.

Anyways there is a lot of $h!t talking on the boards.
I think every L owner needs to meet up somewhere where I can knock the $h!t out of a few of them
