reading this thread, got me interested in the silverstar bulbs, so I went out today and picked up a set of 9007's.... They are very nice. Much better and brighter than the stock bulbs... I only did the headlights to see how I would like them, since I do, the foglights will be coming soon too!

I finally got around to installing the foglights... I got the 9006st. The problem is, is that they don't fit!!

Did those that have these file down the connector to make them fit? Did I buy the wrong ones?

Let me know...

i have some bright bulbs for my fog lights, and they burned the fog light casing! it is like turning brown, so i leave them on as little as possible.

HID's!!!!

Repeat after me:

HIDs are good, HIDs are wonderful. I don't mind spending ridiculous amounts of money on headlights....

Seriously though. If you want upgraded lighting, Sylvania sells ID conversions for us, and HID 9007 bulbs are reasonably cheap.

The Sylvania are 55W HID (really damn bright) and the 9007's are usually 35W HID.

Rough conversion on power is x5 of Halagon (so the 55W are like 250W halogens)

It'll cost you though.

Check out my Gallery for install pictures.

Chris, I'm in the same boat. Did you get the answer to your question?

I just ordered some 9007 and 9005 for my 01. I guess I'll just have to hope that the 9005's fit in the fog lights.

HID's

Don't forget HID's actually produce more lumens per Watt (about 3x-5x that of Halogens, greater than 10x of filiments)

HID's aren't just for color...

You're safe - I found that the 9005 will fit and the 9006 will not.

I agree. However, the problem is that taking pictures of headlight illumination is extremely difficult unless the photographer has manual control over the exposure and really knows how to shoot. You need to first determine what's a good exposure for one set of bulbs, then use the same exposure for the other set in order to get a real comparison.

If I had a digital camera, I'd gladly do it, but I don't.

Well guys I got the headlights in. They look really good but when they are side by side with my dads Acura which has real HID lights there is quite a difference however I think these are the best "superwhite" bulbs I've seen yet. It was very hard to take pictures, i tried taking them with one stock bulb and the other a silverstar and they both look the same on the camera however in person you can really tell, especially for the fog lights they are a lot brighter. These pics are first my truck with the silverstar and the second is my dads Acura. More pics in my gallery.
