Hi J15BIG I, had Piaa Super Whites. They work ok however just picked up Silvania Silver Star bulbs. They are by far the best bulbs I, have used. Plus they cost less than the Piaa bulbs!! Hope this helps ya out. Artie

$24.99 each. So, if you do the heads and the fogs, you're looking at about $100. The silver stars are incredible.

The HID systems are rated at 4100 degrees Kelvin (light rating). The silver stars are 4000 degrees Kelvin. IMO, $100 is a small price to pay for light quality that's nearly that of a $850 Xenarc HID mod.

That's a link to Osram Sylvania's website. They manufacture the Xenarc HID systems as well as the Silver Stars. Check it out. It's a very informative site.

9005, or 9006 for the fogs, i have 9005 in my fogs, they are really bright, the 9006's have a coating on that makes them less bright, and probably less heat to melt the fogs. The 9006's are used usually as the low beam on cars, and 9005's as high beams

I beleive those bulbs are 55/65 watts,,, higher then stock but still should not burn out your wiring harness,,, now 100 watt bulbs,,, yeah,, those will,, learned that from my own experiences.

Lifespan?

In motorcycles, those things have a greatly reduced lifespan compared to regular H4s. It seems 3-6 months is common. At 3x the price, I'd expect better.

I like to drive pretty fast at night, so was trying to get the Brightest bulbs i could, Have 80w100 watt superwhites in the L now and to tell the truth it is VERY hard to tell them apart from the stock 55w65 (low-high) got them from (autobulbdepot.com) and after some disscusion with them on why i could not tell they were brighter, they said that the stock Ford lenses don't reflect the bulbs very well However i have NOT had any wiring trouble with the 80-100 bulbs,, But these Sylvania bulbs , now these i might be interested in,,, but where to get them in MINN?? BTW the superwhites where about $20. apiece including shipping,, Greg,,,
