I dont understand why at 400 hp it can be an auto but at 500 hp it has to me a manual....
I will bet a cold imported beverage there are NO significant changes in the truck for 2003. No manual trans and no 500 hp... 2003 is the last year of this body style and they wont make that kind of investment for one year... In 3 or 4 years when we see the next version who knows what they might come up with ...

I agree with you 100% vinnie, I dropped the arguement a while back. You can even go back and look at the post I left saying "lets stick to the topic". It's Holeshot who thought he had to get his 2 cents in and try to create an arument. I laughed when I read his post though, it's funny how mad I made him. He can't even let it go without trying to be a hero for someone. I'm not even going to waste my time and talk about that anymore. That's what I was trying to do untill ole Holeshot had to throw his Opinion in (which has nothing to do with the topic). Holeshot, it's nice you feel that way about me, and it's nice you feel so much anger towards me. But I have to laugh, I'm glad your so pissed and you would go out of your way to make that long post.
Now like I said before: Let's stick to the topic! Thank You to the ones who have. I started this thread for a reason, and that's to get the latest news and everyones opinion on what Ford is planning for the future. I agree Doug, I didn't say it would absolutley have to be a manual. In my opinion I just think it would be a better choice if their is a big performance change in 2004. I agree that for '03 the Lightning is probally going to stay the same. With exception to the new color I bet there will only be a few cosmetic changes in '03.

all i want to know is are the 03's getting the 3 valve heads, h rods, and the new 5 spd auto trans ?
the reg 5.4's are supposed to be going 3v and 5 spd auto
ford already have the 5spd auto with the new psd 6.0 and yes its already being tested by fleets so is a version of that trans comming along? and ifso maybe it will have a decent factory shift feel
H-beam rods, 3 valve heads, 5 spd superduty auto trans, charcoal grey = best lightning yet
I would gladly give up auto temp control, auto headlamps, door keypad entry, singal mirrors for anyone of the previous mentioned items, it would be nice to have all those and the pioneer 6 disc out of the sport trac but who cares if we get the good stuff
speakers and that = if you listen to boom boom boom you'll buy aftermaket anyway, I maybe the only one but i think the factory stereo is actually pretty good, ford has 6 disc in dash in superduty and sport trac so that should not be a problem.
IF they want the could make the reciever hitch an option - who actually uses it? I'd rather see the tonua cover standard than a hitch.

That is so ridiculous everytime someone says to quit making a vehicle! There will be upwards of 12,000 cobras in 2003, only 4000 L's. Vette, porsche,BMW, they all manufacture vehicles to make money!! (imagine that) They do not only build a few so these owners can be EXCLUSIVE!! Gee, I hope no one else builds a house in mny area, I want the only one. Everyone else needs an apartment so that I can be special.
