Nose: I couldn't get any thing when I clicked on the red 'x'???

CC: I'll call you tomorrow am...............

Hey, check the yellow pages-my jeep had windshield replaced by a shop that will waive your deductible to get business. These shops are everywhere. Check around.

Anybody ever had a small "dime size spider web" fixed? I have one from a log truck. What do they do to "fix" it and when they get through does it look right?

Thanks for any help.

Great screen name! I've never had that procedure done but I've seen it and it works--for small cracks/holes. I think they apply some suction and then insert some liquid inbetween the glass layers. I'd do it if my damage wasn't so large.

Btw guys, yesterday was my L's anniversary--what a 'present'!

L'Rod,

Safelite Autoglass is performing this very procedure on my truck as I type.

will post results and imagery.

no deductible if they repaired it. $350.74 for replacement glass.. OUCH!

S'Bob and everybody else............

Well, it's replaced. Took Craig(he's seen me and my L at the track) about 45 mins to do the job. Btw, the upper crack has grown by about 3" since 24 hours ago--2 cracks, one now 5" and the other, 8 or 10" long.

Pros: Came early(did it in the parking lot at work), professional(as far as I know--time will tell) install, PPG glass(Sunshade-SolarGreen), and the bill was $260.77(Bob???).

Cons: It was finished just as I wanted to leave for lunch and an errand--great--not! Craig tells me it must sit for 4 hours for the sealant to 'set' and don't wash it for 24 hours.

I have now filled up on Danish and Honey buns with 2 Mellow Yellows and a lemonade drink thrown in from the office snack machines. How 'bout that for a nutricious lunch ....

L'Rod,

Initial results are unsat. There are a couple of air pockets in what was the 'spider web.' Hwever I was told it takes a day or so for the resin to 'set' and the air pockets will eventually 'disappear.'

The bad part is I'll have a couple of 'bug marks' on the windshield.. GRRRR

Not a bad price on the replacement. Am wondering where the hell they quoted the $350 price from.

Is your replacement a Ford part or aftermarket?

Bob
