I'm impressed with my ARE Lid w/wing

Looks really good on my truck! I have to go outside every hour or so just to take another look at it....LOL. I have a bedrug and I got the liner on the lid as well. The liner matches the bedrug perfectly. The lid hugs the truck bed just right as well.....

Make sure you don't have the lid too low in back as it will rub your tailgate

Sure...

I'll post some pics real soon....

QKSILVR : As far as the back rubbing.... can you explain how this happens? I know that my ARE lid contains the NEW railings that just came out and I wonder if this might correct this problem....

make sure your lid isnt' touching anywhere on your truck or it will totally mess it up BAD!!!

I just got done spending 500 bucks getting my bed all fixed up from the cover rubbing into when I first bought it. Its not a pretty site!

Did you get the updated version? A.R.E. just released the new hinge, frame, and clamps for the LSII. Watch out for a price increase in the next couple of weeks.

YES! I did get the new hinge, frame, railings and clamp and I got it at the original price. My delaer said their would be a price increase very soon so I got my order in right then. When it came in I received the new style.

Hopefully the new style relieves some of the issues of the lid rubbing. I couldn't see where the lid might be rubbing on my truck but I suppose if the lid would shift it could be possible.

What happens is the stops which hold the edge of the lid off the paint sometimes comes loose and allow the edge of the lid to rub the paint just below the truck rail caps. If you check to make sure these are adjusted correctly and that they are tight you won't have a problem with the new or old system.

Unfortunately I might have to get one of the new ones to stay up with the times.

I suppose all the old classic cars are Rice too since some of them have wings.

those new rails look allot nicer then my old rails, I wonder if ARE was offering any type of warrenty work for damage caused to trucks with there lids that rubbed the bed. Mine from the factory was set so screwed up. Its fixed now though.
