didnt get around to putting the gears in (wish i would have) i ran into a few problems this weekend unfortunatly i get to pull my heads off and see what all i did to it possible valve damage

I don't understand the responses in this post. There are so many factors in chosing the appropriate gears such as transmission ratios....tires size and effective rpm range. I mean I think it's great that 4.56 gears work well in a 67 GTO etc, but that has no meaning. Generally speaking 4.56 gears would seem to be pushing the limits of 3rd gear and rpm in most of the faster current generation 2 L's.
