I have a set of Lakewood slapper bars on mine which are similar to the Truk Tracks.

Last night i ran 1.74 60ft times on E.T. streets.

My only mods are JDM chip, 4pound pulley, and open filter.

Hope this helps.

Do you have a part number for the Lakewood bars? Did you get them from Summit or Jegs?

I got my Lakewoods from Jegs for $99 shipped.

Part number 21910 is for F150's

Some people were talking about cheap u-bolts holding them to the leaf springs, but mine came with grade 8 bolts and 3/8 inch steel plates that bolt together.

On the track you can feel these lifting the truck when the tires hook, which happens more often now.

Both Summit and Jegs are out of stock.
part numbers have changed too:
summit: LAK-21715 90.30 out of stock til May 30
jegs: 620-21715 99.99 out of stock til May 10.

I just got off the phone with both, part numbers I had were no good anymore. .....JR

I've got'em...I love them...i think my 60' dropped .05 right off the bat...The Truck reacts much faster in my opinion and now I don't worry as much about breaking the driveshaft!!!

3/8" grade 8 bolt+ 5000 lb. truck+ 450 lbs of torque=disaster.

I'm not doing this to sell traction bars. I don't want to see anyone tear up their trucks. If a front bolt breaks, you can pogostick the traction bar, which will rip the rear-end out of the truck.

Keep your eye on those bolts. They will probably stretch and get loose before they break. Make sure they stay tight. If they do get loose, they have stretched, and should be replaced.

The Lakewood bars were originally desighned for a stock F-150.

Fast Gator, what can I say. I've been there and done that.

I guess I should thank Lakewood for putting me in the traction bar business

Jay

Are you trying to tell me that you broke a 3/8 gr.8 bolt?

I'm not buying it.

A grade 8 bolt (1/4" to 1 1/2" dia.) has a proof stress of 120,000psi and a tensile strength of 150,000 psi.

MORE than enough, even in a 3/8 dia.

Almost every single suspension bolt is a grade 8 or better.

I realize your trying to sell a product, but i think you are using scare tactics. --Dont buy those they'll break-- I think people need to get away from "It costs more, it must be better"

I'll be sure to let everyone know if one of my -weak- gr8 bolts break.

Jason
