Angry no flame intended BUT! service your customers first .

not to flame the vendors but , they are always busy testing and tuning first and formost, for our benifit? when they run out of test and tune$$$ they service you accordingly=mo money=more test and tune ,from what i have seen on all L boards customer service and replys to questions and orders etc.. is as bad as the almost defunk- K-mart.
i know test and tune is needed but there need to race there vehicles far surpasses your customer concerns. just my 2 cent's bla bla bla ,but i will order my stuff from a vendor/tuner /racer once i establish the fact ,they will be there when needed ,if not i will stay stock ,hasn't hurt anything yet but my ego=stock,
the bottom line is hire more people or open a store for products with employees to handle the resposability of a buisness and race and tune /test with a different group of employees /friends whatever ,JUST MIND THE STORE PLEASE>

Thats what's so great about Capitolism. They can do all the testing and tuning they want and if you don't like it then you can choose to go elsewhere!

I only deal with JDM so I can't speak for the others but...
If you need something, try good bussiness practice on your end too.
1) Visit them in person.
2) if thats not possible, CALL THEM.
3) Do not bad mouth them if they don't dance when you flash your 50 cents.
4) Let them test and tune, that is why we have the quality products that we do. Do you really want someone changing factory computer settings on your truck that hasn't had the time to see the results of their actions?
5) If still not happy, buy a honda, go to autozone and buy a 6" chrome tip with a 5" set screw, and challenge your Mom to a race in her Camry!

Lighten up! Excited is not completely OTL. When I first found out about these forums for Ls it was at SVT Performance and XXX was getting banged for not shipping things on time, not answering emails, etc. What can you do when you have 500 of something and 5000 want it!?!?! We all know these guys spend a certain amount of their time racing for themselves and for parts research for us. And that is what we all want. But when they do this they need to be sure that potential customers know what's up! They all have forums. I just saw where one tuner was taking a beating for no responses. A family member could be sick/died or whatever(hope not), his computer could be broke!. I'm sure they don't mean for it to get that way but without something explaining people will only assume the worst and that may not always be right. They are quick to post when they have something new. So I think they ought to also post when they're gonna be out of touch when possible. It will help to keep bad feelings to a minimum. The tuner I bought my chip/pulley/bypass/pinion snubber from gave me an eta and stuck to it. But as long as they stay in touch and explain the issues a customer can't or should'nt complain. I don't think any of the tuners want anyone to think bad of them. We know they have lives. We are one person dealing with a certain tuner-the tuner is one person dealing with many customers. Can't make everybody happy all of the time.

We live in a small world... I am sure all of us has had at least one run in that proves this.

That being said... we have to keep each other abreast of what's going on in the tuner world... There is one highly known and formerly respected Viper tuner out there that is going down in a blaze of fire... everyone is tolerant to a point but when the general mode of business operation becomes an issue... we need to make it know to the brotherhood, if you know what I mean.

I may have taken the theme of this thread too far but I use the forums to communicate and research the tuners and what others are doing to their L's...

Besides... if anyone posts an inaccurate claim... more than likely... they will get flamed... if it's true... there will be added validity to it through additional posts.

I think some care too much about getting a part as fast as buying a 2x4 at Home Depot just to make their truck go 0.1 second faster in a 1/4 mile run.

So what if it takes one month to get a part. Why not go for a drive a enjoy the view while you're waiting. Heck, you're doing almost the same thing - driving straight and coasting every now and then.

...Just my opinion and if there's disagreement with it, big deal 'cause it wouldn't bother me.

Dr.D,

I can't agree with you more. Excited is not out of line at all. He's using a good amount of restraint im my opinion.

When communication is broken off between a customer and a vendor, that's when confusion and anger enters the picture. The customer doesn't know what's going on and therefore may retaliate in a number of ways.

For instance, say you ordered a mod from a vendor just to find out, a week later when it didn't arrive on time, that the mod is backordered and you can't wait due to whatever your situation is.

OK, lets say that you paid this vendor $294 for the mod using Paypal, which he accepted before shipping your mod (bad practice). You are told, by the vendor, that he will refund your $294 by "cutting a check and dropping it in the mail".

Two weeks pass and you haven't received your refund check. You email the vendor several times and get NO replies. You post a message on his board asking when to expect the refund and after a few days he answers your post saying "Refund has been made" (no apologies or explainations). You know the refund has NOT been made so you post again explaining this and get NO reply.

Another week goes by and still no refund. During this last week you email the vendor explaining that you haven't received your refund and STILL get NO REPLY. What are you supposed to think at this point?

At this point you're getting angry and feel betrayed and have made your mind up that you will NEVER buy from this vendor again. It's easy enough to pick up the phone and call the vendor but you shouldn't have to do this. This medium that you order your parts on is 99.9% typed word. Most all, if not everyone, of the vendors have websites and order processes that you use to order the mods that they sell online. Why can't they respond to your emails and posts 'online' using the same medium that YOU used to order their mods in the first place?

Communication is a wonderful thing and when it's not used it leads to all kinds of confusion and anger. All you really want to know is that the vendor hasn't forgotten you and get some assurance that you will get what's rightfully yours, plain and simple.

Are you alone in the way you feel about a transaction like this? No, I think not.

Hey all that sounds great , but when a tuner charges your credit card and its been a month and the parts still arent there , someone has to answer for that. Youv'e paid the money in good faith and are paying interest on something you dont have. They should just tell you I dont have any , but Im expecting some soon and I'll bill you as soon as I ship the product. Thats all we ask.. I ordered some traction bars and waited patiently for over a month before I called the second time to check on the status and there reply was " He will build them after he gets back from Atlanta race" I heard that about the orlando race. Seems they like to take the money , have a great time and whine when you reverse the charges for something you should of had. Dont get me wrong, I like paying interest on parts I dont have and wont ever recieve................ Jef

Patience. I know none of us want to wait, but sometimes we have to.

Think of it this way, the longer you wait the more anticapation you have = your even more excited and thrilled about that mod when you get it

It is never acceptable for communication to not exist when money and time are involved. Ever. If a vendor can't handle the demands, then that vendor should stop taking orders and charging credit-cards. If a tuner/vendor can't do his own R&D and still run his retail business, then should you really buy from him anyway?

I say- I pay my money to make my truck better/faster. . .not to make a tuner's truck better/faster. If there's a backlog, I understand. One week, two weeks at the most. I know how businesses work. I've litterally seen mountains moved in two weeks. If it takes longer than that there's a problem. All the excuses in the world ain't gonna help the fact that maybe the businessman is in over his head. I'd quite frankly be pissed if I was told my order didn't ship because the owner was at the nationals racing. A tuner tunes. He can't be expected to be a retail outlet for 10,000 loyal customers. A vendor moves product, but can't be expected to be able to tune your truck with the latest cutting-edge technology until the TUNERS turn it over to them to sell. Seems like alot of people confuse the two.

The cream will rise- it always does. Saleen & Steeda started the same way back in their formative years.

Just my $.02

I know there's so many here that like the top few tuners but the reason I ordered from the one that i did is because he didn't charge me until the day he shipped. I thought he was well spoken, knowledgeable, answered all my questions and responded within a day to every email or phone call. Does that mean he's wonderful?? Not necessarily! But for my first experience dealing with a tuner, it was real painless and he delivered what he said he would. What more can you ask for? I know, everything for free!!! I would order from anyone of the tuners if they have what I want at the time I want it. They're all good, but they all have to do business with us customers the way they would want someone to do business with them. Step off the pedestal and see it from down here, if that's what it takes! I don't want favors. I only want what I pay for and what they commit to deliver.

DONE!!

"J"--Chikenears-- good one!!!
