Talking Who's planning on ordering the Kenne Bell Supercharger??

$3800. Not bad for the increase in power. Did everyone read about it in MM&FF? A few basic bolt-ons, the supercharger, 21psi, and 522HP/600TQ. OUCH!!

Depends...once the others (PSP and JDM) come out and have a little testing done, I'll decide which to one buy and put on my bullet proof bottom end and run with a 150 - 250 shot of NOS.

I wonder if that blower setup will work on the new mustang cobra....

Yep, I'd bullet-proof my bottom end with premium forged parts first. It would be really nice to have 500 rwhp on tap, but I still remember my old 5.0 spending weeks in the shop having various driveline parts replaced in the mid 80s.

Robust engineering pays dividends on the street.

So $3800 plus a new, strong bottom end equals, what, $7000 installed? Isn't that crate motor territory?

The cobra already has a forged bottom end.

I'm keen, especially from what JL told me about it, very easy setup. I can see a bottom end rebuild in the pipeline too, rather be safe than sorry. Also, from what JL told me they will actually be selling for around the $2700 mark, pretty fair in my book.

Let's wait and see...

Say goodbye tranny & rods. Looks good on the dyno on the stock lowerend. Lets see em thrash it some and make bets on how long it lasts.

So I take it that no one really believes the MM&FF claims about the stock internals???

I agree to a lets wait and see approach... but for those that have blown and engine at 6lbs over stock boost... was it the timing, detonation what...

I am a lay person to blown engines but it would seem somewhat reasonable that Ford considered most of the mod's before they released the L to the public. After all 8 1/2 compression... killer intercooler... easy to swap pullies...

Theoretically... we should be able to pull 15lbs of boost... realistically... I don't know...

Therefore the wait and see approach... for $3,800 bucks... we should be hearing from those with deep pockets very soon.

I was told 2700.00 when I called to get on the list. I guess come release ime we shall see. But I am gonna buy a new block, crank and rods and assemble and balannce the shortblock with some good cams and have it standing by to exchange for the holed block

Good idea on the spare short block with trick parts... I've thought about it myself if I start to play with it more than I already have...

I may just do the swap before anything serious happens... I'd hate to see me lose it on the road because something broke and then have more damage that I wanted or needed...

yes true, you figure the parts are not that much, 599.00 rods, 500-800.00 pistons, block is running 411.00 new, find a crank. I would say parts in at under 2250.00
A good machine shop to machine and balance may bring you in at under 500.00 for good work. depends on your area also , I probally have 100 shops within 10 miles of me . so a good strong shortblock is within reach for anyone. Don't be afraid to look around and aswk questions at machine shops or even a dealer , find the best engine mech a dealer has and talk to him for side work if you do not want to tackle it yourself . he may even have some parts laying around in hte dealers shop

sound?

One of the things I love about my L is the blower whine? Does the new KB blower sound like their old ones (rattling bucket of bolts?)

If there was a better blower that still sounded good, I'd be wanting one for sure...
