I then took his truck for a ride with my son along. I was not happy with the shifts at all. Could hardly notice much of a difference. I also helped install a Transgo shift kit in my brother's Magnacharged F-150 one week earlier. I drove this truck yesterday and couldn't believe how crisp the shifts were. I am not trying to start anything or promote any product over another. I think Factory Tech's work is probably second to none. Maybe there is something wrong with redrider's L. Maybe it needs some more miles put on it. It had a little over 500 miles on it when I did the install. I have never rode in anyone else's L with the valve body mod. Maybe this weekend I will be able to. We are renting a track for 3 hours. Hopefully someone there can let me try there's out. Any other ideas out there?
Mike I will take you for a ride in mine and I want you to tell me my truck does not shift with authority. I have NO increase in line pressure........just the valve body.

BTW.......I also wanna check out the Trans Go

Wait a sec guys.........

Lets remember .........the real benifit to this valve body is under heavy-to wide open throttle. Gregg will tell you that right off. The shifting difference under normal driving is altered with a chip. Remember this is an automatic tranny controled by the computer.
Install this valve body and talk to Jim from JDM about the tunning. Sal from PSP can probably take care of it too.........nothing against Sal but i'm not educated as far as his custom tuning capabilities.

You are correct that Sal can take care of any tuning problems. I know he was in business (PSP) when the 99 Gen 2 came out and he has been tuning the early Lightnings before that. On the subject at hand, I just recieved my Factory Tech valve body and deep pan today, so saturday I will have a handle on how the shifting goes Go Pats

Yeah, I mentioned something about that in the line mod thread going on too. The initial drain's not the only time you're going to need that catch pan, but twice more, once for filter removal, and once for when you take down the stock valve body. Don't forget that there's more fluid in the filter, turn it over in the catch pan to drain that out too. I got covered with mercon too... ugh.

My recommendation if you're going to use a deep sump pan is to punch a hole in your stock pan and drain it that way, it's a lot easier than cracking the back of the pan and letting it cascade out.

Another heads up for you installers. Make sure when you pull the filter that the o-ring seal comes with it or remove it if it sticks up in the hole.
