L owners- learn some manners
I agree with some L owners being ****s. I wave at EVERY L owner Gen 1 and 2 I see in my area, and there are a few that don't wave back which I think is pretty rude.
But in defense to some "catious L owners", I have gotten many compliments and I'm greatful, BUT some people take it too far, a guy had the ***** to open my door while I was in a parking lot, waiting for my dad to pick up a car, to tell me nice car. All he had to do was knock on my window, or even just give a thumbs up to me, and I would have been glad to chat but this guy opens my door? And he almost got hurt via my protection.(Kershaw knife and tire iron [whatever is near at the time]) Others seem to want to lean on the front bumper to look at the engine, where I move them back and ask them not to touch (HEY, it's hard to keep black clean with people breathing all over it) Just rude...

There is always going to be that one a$$hole that dosent wanna answer questions about his truck and thinks that he or she is the sh*t. There is always a few ****heads in every crowd, I mean be serious there are a few a$$holes that post on this board all the tme, but for the mosy part lightning owners are 95% awsome people. *****k the other 5% there trucks are probably slow and have ugly girlfriends with yellow teeth.
if i wanna ask questions bout your products i'll go right ahead, i'm curious too
BUT some people take it too far
That is what gets to me........
When I purchased this truck up here in Canada,I sure didn't expect people to know what the heck it was. Now it is like a freak show or something. However,I am a very friendly person and don't mind talking to fellow enthusiests. I can't go to the store without getting stopped by some smiling gentleman. I know it gets a little embarrasing sometimes but hey! Better than those a$$ holes that give ya' the old "To bad it's a FORD". To which I say finish your sentence! "Thats gonna' blow your doors off! hehehehe! Enjoy!
I'm not defending rude behavior, as it bothers me, too.
BUT- I've witnessed 'innocent on-lookers' gathered around nice vehicles stealing emblems, keying paint, breaking mirrors, ripping off licence plate tags, spitting on windshields, leaving gum on leather convertable seats, and even sizing up the owners to see if they're 'nice' guys or someone who will cap them if they mess with their truck. I've seen wheels get stolen while the owner went into a hardware store. You never know the motive of a person who approaches you. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but when a stranger approaches me, I'm always a bit stand-offish. I've seen to many little punks play nice guy until the owner ain't lookin' and then rob him blind. ESPECIALLY when you have the big 20" wheels and a loud stereo. Man, you are a hoodlum magnet. And that sucks- you should be able to have that stuff without having to worry about crackheads.
If someone says, "Nice truck" that's one thing. I'll be friendly. I wave to people in traffic. I'll pull over and talk to another L owner. But someone walks up and opens my truck door and they are gonna get a nice new set of front teeth and a real bad headache.
So if it seems like some L owners are snobbish, maybe it's because we have had bad experiences and feel that we have alot to lose if we get targeted by low-lifes intent on putting our emblems or wheels on their cousins '82 F-150 or something.

I find most L owners I have seen have been total a$$holes. The ones I know from on here or at the track are a different story. But on the street, no one ever even waves back. They just give this "what are you lookin at" look to me...even though I am in my Lightning.
Whateva...it's not a vette..so I guess I can't expect too much.

maybe we should petition Dennis Leary to incorporate another stanza in his A-hole song:
i drive a very fast pickup,
that says SVT,
so get out of my way,
and don't wave at me,
cuz i'm an a**hole

Here in the Palm Springs area, we have lots of `spensive rides, and the valet kids all love and praise the L, to which I'm always happy and chat with them (along with the "no burnouts!" reminder). Maybe I'm not a snob or car snob?
I have told BMW and mercedes owners "nice car" and many have literally looked down their noses at me - hard to do cuz I'm 6'3" - and turn on their heels.
The a$$hole L owners were that way before, or had the latent a$$hole gene in them that the blower whine brought out

i hear ya
everyone from the boards i've met in person have been really cool. Went up to the track a week or two ago to see how Don's new setup was gonna run. Met a guy who wasn't on the boards........he was flat out a Richard Cranium. It's people like that who end up screwed. I don't think i'd be running from one end of the track to the other and back for a set of jumper cables for a guy like that. UM UM UM......hey Don......hows that new optima battery working? HE HE.
