What is the final word on Eibachs and bumpstops?
What is the final word on Eibachs and bumpstops? Did trimming them resolve the situation or are you guys still riding on the bumpstops. I was thinking about buying them but now may get the Bell Tech 3/4 kit instead.
fl,
I have a set of Roush bumpstops to be installed hopefully tomorrow. Thanks Edward!
Trimming the stockers helped a little. Temporary fix IMHO.
So-Cal sells Energy Suspension fitment.
I'll put up some before/after and comparison images of the difference between the two.

Well, i am waiting on the so-cal front bumpstops, i think they came in today. Apparently Eibach makes two different springs for the f150, one that claims a 2" drop for a standard f150 and one that claims a 1.3" drop for a standard f150. I have the one that claims a 2" drop for the f150 which should have been a 1" drop for the L. Eibach said that they were investigating why L owners a getting a 2" or greater drop with these springs. Im hoping the socal bump stops help a lot.
Images as promised.
Trimmed 01 bumpstop w/ Roush unit.
Roush unit installed.
Note:
as you can see, the coils of the Eibach unit are touching.
Soon to be replaced.

Still pissed....

Eibachs will be removed with extreme prejudice(not enough to damage them), returned to the vendor (worth a try), sold, or hurled into one of my employer's gravel pits. At this point in time, the gravel pit option is winning.
Dont know how those with 3/4 drops can stand it. Their trucks, their money i guess.
In the resolution department, hoping to catch up
with Ruslow early next week and discuss solutions on this matter.
Bottom line, different springs. Possibly shocks too.

Not to bad mouth Eibach, but I think they've earned a little negative comment -
IMO I don't see how the coils touching can make it an efficient spring . Also this whole thing with them not giving out spring rates, then saying they will investigate, to me that means: we srcewed up on something, are not going to leak out any information so we can come up with a lame excuse.

Guys, it's fine if you decides to take the Eibach springs out because they are dropping the truck too much or too soft. But if you are taking them out simply because some of the coils are touching each other, then you should know that's how it is with progressive rated springs. Someone once explained how this works to me, but I can't seems to remember right now. I'm sure some of the suspension gurus here can do a better job explaining this.
Just wants to save you some time so you don't swap in another set of progressive rate springs only to find them looking just like the Eibach. IMO, the 30" front height is just right and I'll leave mine alone but may be with a set of shorter bump stops.

Those shorter bumpstops are $40 from www.roushperf.com...
It was my understanding that some of the coils in progressive rate springs do touch once installed, look at this HKS coilover with progressive springs:

Or these Neuspeed coils:
