You are recommending cutting one coil and using Nitro active for the front but what about the back?

The QA1's dissipate heat very well. Over time, they'll outlast the typical shocks between rebuilds and the typical ones can't be rebuilt. Ruslow could provide data on other shocks for comparison. BTW, there are other shocks that would work better but they also cost more.

Heheh, you and this Z06...You've got the ladies approval, go pick it up. Then you can tow it to the track with the truck, and race them both in alternate heats! heheh...

I'm still waiting for my time to get my Viper GTS. I think it will look great parked next to the Bolt.

Daniel

Mmm, so tasty, so beautiful:

Thats the problem, I thinks he's planning on either the Z06 or the L, tuff choice.

Honestly, according to what I have learned about leaf spring rear axle set-ups, there isn't much you can do to improve them (for street/light track duty) that SVT already hasn't done. Don't change the spring rate. You will need better shocks, the Nitro Actives or the Bilstiens are fine for street/light track duty. Lower the rear with a 2" drop shackle (and of course. . .shorten the sway bar end-links 2"). Some say that altering the shocks' mounting position helps, but I can't confirm it because I haven't done any tests on that yet. As torquey as these motors are though, I wouldn't move the shock mounts unless you have some other axle locating devices in place (Trac-link/panhard rod/etc.). Other than that, the L's rear suspension should handle quite well. I modified mine as described above and have no problem what so ever with it. I plan on posting pictures into my gallery soon.

Hope this helps,

Ruslow recommends that there be a 0.5-0.75" gap between the bump stop and the control arm... If that's the case than the Energy Suspension bump stops (part number 9-9102) aren't going to get you there. I just installed mine and measured and the gap is about 1.5" between the Energy Suspension bum stop and the control arm. I also just ordered new Energy Suspension bump stops (part number 9-9116) which are 5/16" of an inch 'taller' than the 9-9102's. These should put me right about at 1" or just a shade over.

I just put the glass rear leaf springs on my L. What would be a good shock to complement these springs and tone down the po-go stick effect?
