OK ... So I tried to unplug this thing ... Then tested.
Got up to about 3500 rpm and the boost just plain quit!

Guess I need to go to the bypass mod.

Anyone else have this problem on the '02 ???

 

If your boost still shut off, you disconnected the wrong part. It's possible you unplugged the EVP solenoid, which looks just like the boost one, and is in front of it. What you want to dissconnect, is rear of the EGR tube, and about 4 inches down on the harness, it has a small grey sticker that says SCB.

Yep you unplugged the wrong thing. It can not kick out if it is unplugged....
