Ford 302 Winter Project Done :)
Ford 302 Winter Project Done :)
At last,,, the first engine rebuild ( with the help of my good friend/great mechanic mike) has been done. It has taken me all winter but i have finally managed to drop the ford 302 engine rebuild i've done into the truck (which will be used in wintertime, or anytime i just need to drive it) She's not perfect but i'm looking for just drivability here. I'll post pics of the completed job. Can't say how proud i am though,,, lots of hard work goes into the whole process of fixing it up just right. Every day i get more and more respect for a good mechanic.
Now its on to my Ford 351 project, just bought the engine today, got a great deal on it,,, free
and all i have to do is rebuild it. This one will be tough though, she was driven so hard that the exhaust manifold is actually cracked in half, makes me wish more people knew how to change oil. But this 351 will be my project, not just a rebuild. I'd like to work on getting her up to Gen 1 Lightning specs if possible. I might need to talk to BABolt or some other good machinists our in this area, this engine will need a lot of work, but hey, i have all summer now
and lots of help of course. I'll probably be posting with questions about this engine periodically, i'm sure there are many of you with lots of knowledge on the ford 351 i'll be working on.
Lets see, this summer will be full of lots to do. I'll be working on getting better air flow to my L as well. Any help/info i can get from anyone is always greatly apreciated.
Well, off to go take some pics so i can post them here ( warning though, she's not much, just in working order,,, i only wish i knew how to polish her
~Toast ( burnt toast that is, definately burnt out from working too much, then comming home and working tooo much tooo

yeah,, he's 6 foot 8 300 pounds,, great for under the engine help for the stuff i had a hard time getting to
couldn't have done it without his help. Hopefully i've learned enough from the rebuild to at least have some idea what i'm talking about, whatever idea that may be
