Beware with Lightning Performance??

Bummer, wondering who else has had problems with LIghtning Force Performance? Ordered (and paid thru Pay Pal ) products from them 2 months ago and nothing as of today except that "it must be in the mail." Some people on this board posted good things about this company so I thought it was legit. Unfortunatly I was wrong. First clue, was that I had to pay thru pay pal (no way to get your money back if they don't deliver); 2nd clue, no telephone number on web site (someone on board provided me the number); Third clue, same excuse time after time (I will check with the Post office); fourth clue, never answered any e-mails; Last clue; now no one answers the phone for 3 days straight. Only lost about $150 on the B&M trans pan, but it is a shame that there are people out there that just want to rip you off.

So beware, certainly appears that this is not a legitimate company!! If you think I am wrong, please feel free to tell me why!

Unfortunatly, Yes. Talked to him 4 times now. Each time he says how small his town is and that he will personally check on the item. Then nothing until I call him again. The last time he said he would send out another product, now when I call, nothing. The cell phone messager service is "full" and the company phone is now giving an answering machine stating another company's name.

Thanks, thats the problem with trusting some of these web companies. At times they are great, but then business starts going south and wam, they shut down and just string "would be" customers along. About the only protection is to spread the word thru our boards so others don't pay and get ripped off. After waiting 2 months for the product, and finally realizing I have no way to cancel payment, I thought it was time to start warning others.

Mark of LFP is based out of Houston. I have met him personally and he is a member of HALO http://www.haloclub.com. I have nothing but good things to say about him. You may want to post to the forums over there and see if he can be contacted. He is usually very quick about answering his e-Mail too.

I think EVILGUY is a big customer of his. Maybe he can help clear some of this up for you. I think he even lives near LFP...

I will try your suggestions, and let me say that I would love to be wrong about all this. But it certainly appears that I am not. After waiting 2 months, sending 4 e-mails to the same address that confirmed my order and is listed on there web site (none have been returned) and 3 phone calls, I am concerned. I have called 3 days in a row now, and nothing but answering machines. If he is legit, he certainly has a very strange way of showing it. Certainly appreciate your help though, jeez, all I want to do is change my trans pan and install my line mod valve, which I bought in January!!

I ordered a few things from Mark in the past. He came through in a very timely matter. Infact he was extremely helpful in answering my questions. I'm not sure if he has help running his small business. He may just be on vacation. Good Luck.

I ordered a Gator Back S/C belt from him a few months back. I got it in the mail in a couple of weeks.

I ordered from him a while back and had no problems with him. Actually the only problem I had was not Mark's fualt at all. One of the items I had was on backorder, and he shipped it to me the day he got it, the problem was it that this all happened right around 9/11, which severely slowed down anything and everything being shipped to places.

also if he is shipping to you in Germany, where your location says, things take along time to go overseas, and they *misplace* stuff also going overseas.

I ordered a driveshaft loop from Mark and have nothing but praise for him. When he gets word of this, you can bet he'll clear it up.

Hey Jeff,

The first product I ordered from Mark went perfect!! The second time I ordered from him there was a problem and he was a stand up guy and refunded the money he promised he would using paypal I think he will do whatever it takes to fulfill his obligation!

How's everything across the pond?

i ordered a filter kit from him along with an oil breather and originally had problems receiving the items, fedex had shipped the product to the wrong adress, twice if i remember correctly, i even had tracking numbers to verify this, upon finding this out he overnighted a package to me with my order in it via UPS instead of fedex,, the only way i think it could have been handled better would be if my shipping was refunded, but no complaints here, i also ordered in january.

~Hope things go better for you, i've seen the gen 2 L's come a long long way, i mean only this year have more people started to rebuild the lower end of their engines. To me it seems many tuners have been working very hard on R&D, and possibly fallen behind on some orders. regardless, i hope you receive your order as soon as it can get there.

~Toast
