I would have to guess that failures caused by a chip are few and far between. Under Magnuson Moss, don't they have to prove that the part (chip) caused the failure, and that the failure wouldn't have occured otherwise? You would think that the SVT dealers would understand the mindset of the SVT owners.
I wouldn't let the chance of a warranty denile deture me from using a chip.
I don't have a Lightning but I have done some things to my F150 that increase the chance of warranty denile. All mods have some risk.

Well i guess its time to remove my built date and info from my signature, when i do get that chip. My warranty will be up in 3K miles anyways.

Is there a way of putting the laquer stuff back on the terminals to make it look untampered with.

im not saying your wrong, but...how else would ford know that i had a chip? believe me, if they did actually look at the contacts on my PCM, they could not have seen that I had a chip. what else would they mean by emails? even if they did somehow look at my pcm and saw "evidence" of a chip, why would they say we read your emails? i know of a few other people that have had the same thing happen to them. hell, ford even printed out some of the stuff for one of the guys, it was about an 1" thick of posts that said that this person had a chip or other mods.
u dont have to answer me, just something to think about.

Believe what you want but I've been on the phone with SVT and while waiting I overheard them discussing a post that was made on the board earlier that day. This board is a wealth of info for anyone involved with a Ford whether it be owners or builders of the vehicle. One would be stupid to not tap this info.

This is a public forum. There is no reason that an employee of Ford or even an employee of a Ford dealership couldn't get information here. We have anonymity if we so choose. A lot of us would like to know our fellow members better (and also show off a bit) so we give away certian things in our posts and in our sigs.
As far as the legality of using information gathered from a message board, well I don't know about that.
There is nothing saying that we can't mod our trucks. Any of us, Lightning or other.
The dealership is going to do all they can to not have to spend any more money than they have to. If we don't put up a fight when it comes to warranty denile (that is if we think it wasn't caused by the mod) they succeed.
We pay a lot of money for these trucks. We should be able to do what we want with them. If there is a (Ford) problem with a Ford part, Ford should pay for the fix!
