Denied Warranty work?
Denied Warranty work?
Has anyone here been denied warranty work due to cleaning the contacts on the computer, after removing a chip? I REALLY want to purchase a chip and was wondering if anyone has had this happen. I understand that you can clear the code on the computer but it's still evident that a chip was there(due to the removal of the coating).

When you go to install a chip, you must remove a black plastic cover. When you go to take your truck in for work, remove the chip and put the plastic cover back in place. The dealor would have to pull the PCM out and open it up to look at the contacts.
my warranty was denied because i stated that i had a chip on this board...so they said they had evidence of a chip. i probly could of fought it but whatever. im sure i will be happy with my new engine

blown engine on a 2001. what they said exaclty is that they read my emails but since its very very hard and illegal to intercept my emails, i assumed they were talking about this board. they made the connection to my turck because i used to have my build number in my sig which was stupid.

If you have a major failure of your engine they could just pull the computer out and take off the black plastic cover. It has happened before
has this happend to anyone else? Has anyone had a major failure like this and had warranty work done even after installing a chip?
