Cool

This was a Hotchkis 1"/2" drop.

This is the new setup that lowered my truck 3.5" in front and 4.5" in back when it had 18's on. With the 20" wheels it's a 2.5" front / 3.5" rear drop. I just put on over 3,000 miles driving from Chicago to Florida and the ride is quite good, actually it's no different then when I had the Hotchkis components on. No bottoming out at all ( thanks to the C-notch ). I used Doetsch Tech shocks all the way around and so far I have to give them the thumbs up.

Cool looking ride Rob! Can you give me the model numbers of the Doetshc shocks that you used and where you got them? I'd appreciate it since I ordered a BT 3/4 kit last night and I'll be needing shocks.

torsion bars?

Rich, or anyone else that knows this answer,
I heard that you can crank the torsion bars and lower it an inch or so. Is this true? If so, could someone post some pics of where I need to look to get to the torsion bars, and how to do it. Thanks.

By the way, I just lowered mine using the Chassis Tech 3"-4" kit, and it doesn't sit as low as I would like it to in the front.

Thumbs up

Capt. Chickenears,

The front part # is 4069G

The rear part # is DT4112G

I bought them from Sport Truck Direct. Price was around $ 35.00 each. You'll have to do a search for Sport Trucks web page as I am too inconsiderate to save such things

Puddin'

We don't have torsion bars on Lightning's. It's 2 wheel drive.

ICULOKN-Did you get a C-Notch for it as well?? If so, how hard are those things to install? I LOVE the way your truck sits, Im just worried about some big @$$ speed bumps around where I live...
ALSO..is there any difference in handling?
thanks..

Question Has anyone tried...

Has anyone tried using lowered leaf springs in the rear? I think Chassis Tech makes a lowered leaf in 2", 3" and 4" drops for the F-150. Might be easier to go that route than having to replace the hangers. Don't know how these would effect handleing or payload capacity, but for the price I have seen them for, they might be worth trying.

No C-Notch, no scrapping, just some bump stop hits on ruff roads. Once I removed my trailer hitch most of that went away. The 2/3 drop with a removed hitch sits LEVEL!!
