Thanks for the update. Dave did a great job on the sidesteps. I did not understand he was also making a rollpan. I will get mine from him also.

Thanks again for the help.

I just can't wait until you guys finally get them and stop bi*ching about it...

Here's an install tip:
When you remove the factory bumper, you will have to trim the lower part of the tailgate supports so the rollpan fits flush. You'll see what I mean when you pull it apart. Have a dremel/cutting disk handy...

Here is a stupid question: What exactly are end caps? I think I know what the rollpan is.

Thanks and forgive me ignorance...

Yes, we are trying to produce a roll pan for the Flairside bed but are
running into a problem with the cost on the end caps which have to be made
out of fiberglass. If we were to go with the companies who can make them for
us, we will have to charge $450 for the entire roll pan. What we need is
feedback. Would you be willing to pay this amount for the part. Please give
us our opinion.

This would lead me to believe the rollpan is made of something other then Fiberglass...Rich, what is yours? Steel or Plastic?

Is Dave's all fiberglass or is it plastic?

the endcaps are fiberglass and the pan is a steel unit from sir micheals.

Dave sad that we would also have to trim the tops of the supports a tad also, so definetly have a saw tool handy for this job. he said that they should bolt right up there nice and easy and we would have some play with them to get the height just right. The roll pan is designed to sit on the lip of the bottom of the bed so it looks all pieced together. The way he explained it sounded NICE!

the the only thing I'm going to have trouble with is trying to smooth out this tailgate the way he told me too! I'm no good with body work but he said this is the best way to do it, solet give it a whack! HAHAHHAHAHA

Rich when are you doing your tailgate? Am I really going to do a cool cosmetic mod before you? . I'll take lots of pics for you to learn from, HAHAHHAHA J/K.

Joey is correct once again....

The rollpan is steel. It will have to be tack welded once completed since there is nothing to connect the lower edge to.
If you have a lot of bass, it would be a good idea anyway.

When you install the corner caps, you will have to drill one hole to mount the lower part of the cap. Make it a little large and slotted so you can do some adjustments.

Once the rollpan is tack welded, adjust your caps!!!(trust me).

Daniel - Center is made of laser cut 18 gage steel and the endcaps will be
made out of a two-piece fiberglass design. As far as paint, we do not color
match parts here sine we are a manufacturing company.

I'm thinking it will look just like the one from Sir Michaels. But, that's just a guess...

I think Joey(RTKilla) will have one soon.

Maybe he'll be nice enough to post a picture when he gets it.

You better beleive it! Apirl 1st I'm calling up and sending my money down to dave for one of those bad boys! next day air!

He installed the first proto type on a truck and said it was perfect! the endcaps fit great and the only adjusting you really have to do is to the tailgate.

From what dave said to me, I got the impression that ther was no welding needed for this roll pan.

When I get mine I'll take pics and do step by step install with picture for you guys that arn't willing to take a chance! HEHEHEHEH. I wouldn't wait to long though, Dave said he's got tons of people that want these kits from him.
