Has anybody ever had a dealership call them saying "Hello Mr. Smith. We just realized we didn't give you enough for your trade. You need to come down here and let us cut you a check for the extra amount."

How about "Mr Jones, we just realized we gouged you when we sold you your Lightning. It must have been the nice weather. We feel really bad about it, and want to offer you a free 100,000 extended warranty."

I didn't think so.

They bought the vehicle from Ford. They sold it to you. It's up to THEM to try to make a profit on it. Quit returning their calls.

fwiw - I'd look for another dealership for service from now on, though.

They cannot get the ford employee in trouble, it was the Dealer's mistake.

well they STILL call me and NOW they faxed me an agreement i signed about the plan. i don't think i violated any of the terms on it and they STILL threatened me that Ford will contact the Ford employee and settle the matter. then i said hey wait buddy...under the DEALER AGREEMENT part it states you'll provide ME the purchaser with a copy of this agreement. why was i never given a copy? he said well i can fax it over to you now. then in the background i hear NO! NO MORE FAXES THIS IS IT! (that was his manager hehe) then i also said "it says under the dealer agreement that you agree to charge me the appropriate plan price. you violated that one too. your mistake. and now this is no longer in my hands. you'll be hearing from my attorney." his response? FINE and slams the phone down. i think he was upset wonder why anyway now i'm going to have my attorney b!tch slap him around a little and finally get the moron to realize that there is nothing he can do. WAIT TILL I GET MY HANDS ON THAT SURVEY!!!!!!!! also..he said NOW they are going to give the case to FORD. FORD will handle it he says. what would FORD say to the guy who gave me the pin #?? the guy's been at Ford for like 40 years. it's ridiculous. i doubt they'd fire someone who's been there 40 years for 1100 bucks. and everyone here is telling me there's nothing they can do to him anyway! man...what a waste of time this is...thanks everyone again...i'll keep you posted.

Next time they call ask if you can come down and take pictures of their facial expressions

Listen to what Sal said. They screwed up, you both signed the contract. Signing a contract means whoevers signature is on it has reviewed that document and has understood/approved it. If they put down the wrong price and signed it, it's almost like nailing down your own coffin.

As for the employee getting in trouble for giving you an X plan, can't happen. X-plan is a perk of the job, he gives it away to someone and it's out of his hands, nothing to do with it afterword.

Word of advice though - don't bring your truck to that dealer to get serviced.

Again, the employee can't get in trouble. He (and you) did nothing wrong. Ford is not going to go after you...the only person Ford might go after is the dealer for doing an A-plan with an X-plan pin. When the pin is set by the employee, it is set to a specific person (as im sure you know...you had to give your soc. and contact info) and it is set up for either A-plan or X-plan. As long as the employee set it for X-plan, and you told the dealer it was X-plan you and your freind are in the clear.

The dealer screwed up...and typical of most dealers...is sleazy and trying terror tactics to try to get you to give them more mula. I seriously doubt you will need an attorney. The dealer is totally full of crap..and would most likely not take this to court as they are in the wrong.

What would be their defense to a court (or to ford for that matter)

Salesperson:"uhhhh...we like charged a different price than we wanted to get...uhhh yeah huh huh....so umm....we like want more money."

Sleazy sales manager: "Yeah yeah...money is cool...he he...fire fire..."

understood. my father and i work on our trucks. never dealers anyway..unless warranty issue rises. then i have many other dealers close to my house for that. the only reason why that Lightning will be in or around paramus is for the St. Patty's Day meet on the 17th. that's about it! they are STILL convinced that they are right. it's killing me...

Remember the employee can ONLY get in trouble if it where a A/Z plan reserved for family members, and told them that you where a family member, when indead you where not. And they couldnt fire him, but it that case with the family plan, it states that they can revolk his plan privilages.
