Question SVT dealer vs. Ford dealer

Can any Ford dealership that is "willing" do needed warranty repairs to a SVT vehicle? The dealership where I bought mine said that only a SVT dealer could do any warranty repairs. They seemed very nice today but asked if I planned on doing any racing or if I planned on purchasing a programmer. I could not tell if they were fishing for responses or just interested in the truck and its performance. I answered NO to both questions

My '02 L is getting a new engine put in at a non SVT dealership. I think it really depends on trained personel and the size of the dealership. The SVT owners manual states that the vehicle can be serviced by any Ford dealership.

Try dealing with a Lincoln Mercury dealership. They deal with peculiar customers all day long.

fast gator, you couldnt be more correct. In our town, about 6 mo. ago the LM dealership lost their franchise, so our ford only dealership is the only place in 30 miles for all of them to go now.

jeff, that truck is sweet. I was hoping you would chime in here. I was on my way back from the auto show in Raleigh Friday and stopped at Lee Motor to have them look at the noise underneath. They were very nice but I will be bringing over your way for service I think, especially if I do a few mods. A lot closer. What are your service hours? Do you guys give a loaner for SVT vehicles? They did order me a exhaust system(I'm considering aftermarket anyway) so they will put that on. Thanks for the info.
