SVTOA? Worth joining?
We have a very active group up here at the SVTOA-Toronto chapter. Last year we had a Show 'N Shine and an On Track event at Cayuga that cost $200 (CDN - so virtually free if you were paying in U.S. funds) . Professional instructors, road course racing and drag strip, meals, prizes, etc. etc. Really a lot of fun.
So far this year, and it's only February, we've had a tour of SHM's facility, and an OTP tour this Friday. Things being planned for the remainder of the year include another Show 'N Shine, a road rally, and an ON Track event at Mosport.
Check out http://www.svtoa-toronto.ca/about/about.html to see what's going on.
Is it worth it? I guess my only gripe is that you must join the national SVTOA to be able to join the local chapter. Beyond that, I guess the bottom line is that if you have no intention of getting off your duff to go do something, then the SVTOA doesn't bring a lot to the party. If you want to get out and join other like-minded people and experience some fun in your car or truck the SVTOA is making an attempt to provide the opportunity. So far I've had a great time. I'm not usually a club joiner, but this has provided me with a break from the old routine. Good fun and great people.
By the way, I'm just a member.

Crazyone, You didn't open anything for some unknown reason any links i stick in my sig are outlawed on F150,
my business links,
links to the class i am sponsoring at the mod shootout (which is costing me money)
It wasn't because an opinion differed, it was because it was an uninformed opinion (IN MY OPINION), and as most of the posters didn't take offense it appears you are the only one whining.
I am sure if we go back and look throughout all of the posts I have made on this board, a very minimal will be me attacking people because their opinions differ.
It's amazing that i have participated in well over 20 UBB type boards in the past 3 years and yet I only have a proplem on one board in the forum you moderate.
And as far as making blind statements, I do not feel you are any different. You insinuated that I was using pictures of my daughter to promote my business. Well, me and my wife bring our daughter to our business every day and she plays on the floor, i take almost all of the digital pics of my daughter at the store. Had you taken the time to be informed instead of attacking me, you would have known that.
As you say to me, lighten up.

No matter how many times you say "not meaning to be harsh" calling some one ignorant is harsh. Of course you also called him blind and uninformed because his opinion differed from yours.

Perhaps the reason you percieve that your ***** are being busted is because you make it a point to attack fellow members rather than argue the facts and continually find pleasure in ignoring my requests to NOT market your websites on F150Online and remove the links from your signature. This is my last request.
Your posting rights will be removed if you dont edit your signature to remove the links which violate the vendor rules.

Beefcake,
There are many poeple around the country whos experience is just like Factory Tech or Easterisland or many of the local guys here. They get nothing from SVTOA national.
Unfortunately You see me doing the job of the moderator and enforcing the simple rules we have as attacking you. After I asked you twice NOT to promote your business on F150online I saw a picture you posted that was clearly full of product placement. I honestly dont see how a picture of your daughter has any business on an F150 forum. So the picture I asked you to remove was both off topic and against the vendor rules... Just like if a Tuner who wasnt a supportiung vendor started posting pictures of his dog frolicking amongst superchips and airfilters... That hasnt happened yet but if it does and I see it Ill ask them to remove the picture..
If you had responded to any of the early requests by following the rules, then we wouldnt be where we are now.
I think its great that you have stepped up to the plate and helped sponsor a race. Trouble is the Link you posted about the sponsorship pointed back to your website wheich we have asked you 4 times NOT to link to. I would hope as many times as we have covered this you would understand by now...
Im going to close this since it has become the Beefcake vs Moderator show...
