C-Notch is DONE !!!
Takecover, Yes with a drop which I have, there is a chance the rearend Pumpkin will hit that is why I plasma cut under the bed frame support under the bed a half moon shape and along the drive shaft so there will be no bottoming out or damage the rearend or drive shaft.
RTkilla, I think the 4/6 kit is for a 2wd F-150 so on a Lightning it will only be a 3/4 drop and I would have saved money instead of buying the parts separate. The Western Chassis Kit comes with all the parts I bought and Western Chassis parts are as strong or stronger than the Bell Tech kit. As far as the Bell tech shocks they sucked I had them on for a week. My L. handles very good, better than stock. I don't have the bouncy feeling like
my stock ride had at 50mph. I don't really know about a 2001 L. I have not ridden a 2001 so I could not comment on the ride sorry.
The reason I did not weld the C-section plates the kit did not advise it!!!

Just so I'm clear, everything you did with the c-notch was because you wanted a true 3/4 drop right? If I go with the belltech 3/4 and only set it for a 2/3, I shouldnt have to do what is explained here. Its gonna look sweet but probably a little more of job then I want to take on. Also what do I have to shock wise, can I stick with stock or should I upgrade or is it madatory I upgrade. i'm probably going to purchase the belltech 3/4 from here and just want to make sure I have everything straight in my mind. Thanks
Rhino Slug,
A 3/4 f-150 drop will be a 2/3 drop on a Lightning ( remember, we're already 1" lower stock ) and depending on how much you drive the truck you MIGHT have to do the C-notch. It looks scary but out of everything that I have done so far suspension wise, the C-notch was the easiest. The hangers are the real bitch.
Also, I would highly recommand different shocks. The shock body on the stock shocks is too long so they will give you a horrible ride, especially the Bilstein shocks which are really stiff.

Did you install the Western Chassis A-Arms yourself? If so, was it very difficult? Are there any other parts necessary to get this done that haven't been mentioned? I'm asking because I'd like to do it myself. My truck has already been lowered 2" in the front via coils and the camber kit is installed. Also what do you think of the ride with the doetsch shocks all the way around? I have the stockers up front and Bell Teck in back and I think they suck.

KIHMO,
I did all the work myself and it was pretty straightforward. If you'd like, e-mail me and I'll send you some install pics.

Rob,
Thanks for all the info, I e-mailed it directly to my buddy that owns a performance shop to get some prices. Do u think those doetsch shocks r better then koni's?? The koni's r adjustable but only when the truck is in the air. Also Im going to do the painted interior trim could u perhaps give me a little insight I could also e-mail u if u want.
Thanks
