I've been using it since I bought my truck in April of 01, I just get it in the form of AVGAS, Toulene just happens to be the main blend stock for avgas. O but what about the lead, I have ran it in my cars for the past 16 years and in my L since I bought it with no problems at all. 1 gal. of Avgas to 4 gal. of 93 octane unleaded makes 100 octane.

I used the xylene mix a few weeks ago at the track, as per Corner Carvers instructions. It ran great with absolutely no detonation. It actually seemed to run smoother on the drive home and the next few days it was in the tank. I bought it at Sherwin Williams for $25/ 5 gallons. My friend also used some on his turbo supra and said the car was pulling like hell until mid track when he blew off a intercooler hose.

HOLY S***!!! I put a gallon of the Toluene in with a half tank of Texaco 93. So I go for a drive hoping this stuff stops my detonation problems but not really expecting too much, sure enough while lugging in OD I squeeze the throttle and grit my teeth, HEY no pinging!!! So I back down to 60 and hammer it and still no pinging!!! Its 40 deg. out as well!!! I was thrilled!! But not nearly as thrilled as what happened next............

I pull up to a red light and over in the next lane two cars up is a silver Viper GTS!! Light turns green and I work my way over beside him running about 30, I ease in the throttle and play cat and mouse for a little while......he doesnt bite. So we leave the next light and Im doing 55, hear he comes up on my ***,I couldnt see the front end of his Viper, thats how close he was,We're running 60 now, so I hammer it and so does he! He whips over in the next lane and Im holding my ground!!! We run up to 130 and he is 1-1 1/2 car lengths back before we get out of it. We slow down to 70 and he romps it again so I hammer it, he pulls 2 lengths on me quick, but he didnt pull any farther up to 120 when we backed out! So he pulls into a business complex and I follow. He has already parked and is out looking around his viper while making a few glances at me easing in the parking lot( I had the park/fog lamp mod thing going on tryin' to be cool, LOL!)
I pull up beside him and get out and he says, "Think I messed something up because I didnt pull you." I said no, you just happen to run a fast truck. Then he said,"That is the fastest Ford anything Ive ever seen!" I started laughing and told him how nice and fast his Viper was. He started looking the Lightning over and couldnt believe I ran with him. He said he had run several vette's and left them like they were standing still! (My ole chest just bow's up with pride) Very cool Viper owner(about my age as well, how does he afford it???)
Anyway, said he was fixing to "spray" the viper,so guess I wont be running with him anymore!
Man, what a cool experience!! Two thumbs up for the Toluene as well!! It works great! Sorry so long, but its not everyday you get to play with vipers! I just thought they were wicked fast. Im proud of the Lightning!!

Using either one for any other reason other than curing a detonation problem like Shankdog, is a waste of money.Higher octane does NOT increase H.P.

That calculation should have been:

(1.5x121)+(1.5x117)+(7x93)/(1.5+1.5+7) = 100.8

He uses 1.5 gallons of BOTH.

You are correct but do you think anyone will listen. I have watched guys at the track add higher octane fuel thinking their performance will improve even when they have no detonation. It is cool to make home brew if you need it

Yeah, thanks Lurker and LTNBOLT. I was starting to regret paying that guy to take college algebra for me!
