I ran the 130W H-3's in my 99 with NO problems other than burned out bulbs! Now I was told that my 01 uses #9005 bulb in the foglamps

Stay with the correct wattage bulbs. To much wattage will burn up the sockets. To much wattage on the fogs will put a brown spot on the lens or burn bulbs out faster from to much heat. I like the piaa,s a nice upgrade from stock. Not cheap I know. Bob.

I am running Nokya 9005 Artic White bulbs rated at 100W in my 2001 fog lights. They put out a lot of slightly blue light and look great. I have been running these for about a month with no problems (knocking on wood).

Ok, another question.... I just ordered the PIAA 9007 superwhite bulbs, and are those HIGH AND LOW beams, or do I have to order the low beams seperate? If so, whats the part number for them?

The PIAA 9007 are both high and low beams. While you are at it, you should order the 9005's for the fogs. They made a big improvement in visibility in my truck.

So the 9007 are for the headlights and the 9005 are for the fog lights?? can you use a 100 watt bulb in the fog lights without burning the plastic dome??

fwiw: the 02s use 9145 bulbs (aka "H10") at what appears to be 42 watts.

I don't know what bulb/wattage the 99-00s use, but the only H3s I've ever seen are 37W, 55W, and 100W. A lot of OEM fog lights use 37W bulbs, which explains why they are almost useless in real fog.

If the earlier models use a 55W H3, then perhaps they switched to a 42W H10 in order to reduce heat and cracking. If the newer lenses still crack, then perhaps we could use a 37W H10. That is, if one can be found. They'll look nice but won't do much if you really need them.
