I will be VERY surprised if it makes it to prodution with all 500 HP. Not too long ago Dodge had rear axle troubles with the torque of the Cummins. I'm guessing around 450. Not bad looking, for a Dodge. If it does have all the HP, the Viper guys are gonna be pi$$ed.

Stock vs. Stock is the best TRUE comparison. Your telling me you didn't enjoy smoking that 1st ever Vette or F-body with your stock L? Have you forgotten the expression on their face, looking over at a TRUCK smoke their butt?
Yes, even Dodges are fast. My old '64 Dodge Polara turned 10.32 @ 133 mph and was daily street driven. All 426 ci big- block max wedge motor, no nitrous, no supercharger/turbocharger. It was no Mercedes Deisel, but was reliable for what it was.
If it's as versital, competitively priced, and fast as the L, I'll buy it. Maybe, if I can get used to the front end. The manual trans is a big ++++++ IMO. It will be much more of a "drivers vehicle" with the manual trans.

Reneck Ferrari... your name still makes me Where I was going with that is: both are trucks, in the sporttruck class.. both with big motors... if the dodge is infact heavier, then it may be a better stock versus stock race. I was saying that meaning, that for the extra 50 horses, an equilizer in power and weight, and the L would still win! another words, all things being equal.. the L still wins the game...

I think this thread sets the all time record for replies per minute. Let's just wait and see how much guts this Dodge(really DaimlerBenz) machinery puts out before we get our panties in a wad. But for you guys that will be looking to trade-up to the next Gen L, don't worry, Mr. Coletti, being the fine Italian man he is has got somethin' for 'em. Lets just hope Ford lets it go out the factory door.

I agree with Sandman. With that kind of power, you'd be lucky to hook up half way through 3rd gear! Unless they design some to revolutionary rear truck suspension, that can still handle a payload. The L's struggle enough for traction as it is. An AWD system would be the only real way to cure this problem. Oh, and a V-10 in the L would be a big mistake. The 5.4 is more then capable of producing big numbers. Evident in the new GT-40 concept.
