doesn't the engine and tranny in the viper cost as much almost as much as our truck? I mean I've found used viper engines from recked vipers that were around $10k. So if the price is well over $40k it won't shock me at all.
It does look nice though. Alot better then this competition Chevy is supposedly producing for us.

I agree, will probably be closer to the Viper in cost. 60,000-80,000 range maybe more. As I said earlier I don't think Ford should try to compete, that would put the truck out of range for most performance enthusiasts.

$40K MY A_S_S!!!!
I'd say Z06 price range if you ask me.
Which ultimately sucks, because Ford will ultimately begin different "stages" of the Lightning, with our model as the "Base" Lightning, up to probably a 32-valve, SuperCrew, similar to the Harley Davidson as the "top of the line".
Call me crazy, but that's what I see happening......so much for exclusivity on the Lightning...
anyone agree?

Viper Motor
I saw this very same truck on my stock channel yesterday and they were beating on it big time out of the hole and they claim it has the 500HP viper motor installed in it but did not put a price tag with it!

Who knows
Honestly, I think it looks clean as sh*t - if I were a Dodge boy, I'd pick one up. If the performance is there, that is...
Time will tell.........

Denau expects that the SRT-10 will be released by the end of 2003, possibly as a 2004 model truck. While pricing has not been announced Deneau added it will be competitive with the Lightning. And, unlike the Lightning's 5500 unit limit, there will be no ceiling to the number of SRT-10's produced each year.
