Noise in my L

I'm noticing this noise coming from what sounds like the driver side of the engine. The sound only occurs when I open the supercharger up a little bit, and gets louder when I open it up all the way. It sounds like a bunch of marbles bouncing around in my engine. It's not all that loud, but I was wondering if any of you have had this problem, or know what it is. It got quieter when the dealer replaced my recalled intercooler, but still does it. Any feedback would be great.

Just a DiabloChip is all, running 91 octane gas from ARCO out here. Sounds like it's coming from the supercharger because it only happens when the supecharger is engaged.

Cool

I have to agree with LB on this one. It sounds like detonation. Lower octane (91) winter gas and a chip add up to a reburn more than likely.

Hey buddy, this is a pretty good place to start, if this isn't enough do a search and you'll find plenty. I'm not trying to be mean either just trying to help. Good Luck

Remove chip and see if it goes away. If it doesn't add some good(NOS brand is one) octane boost(you may have gotten a tank of bad gas). If it does get your chip reburn when you're sure it's not the gas.

I think I would avoid arco gas like the plague... Oxygenated with Alcohol. Wonderful. So we see 10% of the fuel economy *evaporate* practically before it reaches the fuel rail.

Are you close to your chip tuner? Maybe you can have them adjust your diablo a bit, since there's a 98% chance that the noise is NOT coming from the supercharger, and is more than likely detonation like the above posts have said.

Try an octane booster.

Unhappy

I just recently noticed a very similar sound coming from my bone stock 2k1 L... No chip, and run only with Ammaco 93 octane. Mine doesn't sound like detonation though... It only happens when you just barely get into boost, and even then, it doesn't happen all the time...
