Smile Its a hood bonaza!

Since there have been alot of questions about hoods, I thought I would share everything I learned about hoods in the past year here for people to paruse and find a hood they like. These are the mainstream mass-production hoods...there are a few one-of's out there, and maybe one or two mainstreams I'm missing. (Sal, Bulldog and 1BADTK all have custom hoods).

These are more or less accurate numbers:
Stock hood = 20lbs (aluminum)
Kaminari hood = 22lbs (carbon fiber) $795
APC Scoop hood = 24lbs (carbon fiber) $707
ProFinish Shaker Hood = 32lbs (fiberglass) $895 ($765 from LFP)
KeyStone RamAir = 39lbs (steel) $895
Cervini RamAir = 41lbs (fiberglass) $449
Relfexxion Cowl = 42lbs (steel) $510
Cervini Cowl = 44lbs (fiberglass) $439 -- cervini's also makes a clip on cowl hood only for race for $139 I think?.
AAD Cobra Hood = 43lbs (fiberglass) $595
ProGlass Cobra Hood = 4x(?)lbs (fiberglass) $???

Now for the pics:

Thumbs up

Glad I can help. I'm still trying to decide what to get for my truck so thats how I compiled all the information...

I'm interested in what Quick_pickup's hood is. I don't know if thats the old Rflexxion cowl that I really wanted (thats not available anymore) or if its a custom job.

Daniel

Downs Ford in toms River in NJ also sells a functional RAM Air hood for the Lightning for $439.00 unpainted.

Does a RAM Air setup singnificantly increase performance on Gen2 Lightnings?

Also this custom hood. Can't remember who made it. But it is extremely sweet, and FUNCTIONAL

And the Reflexxion Cowl Hood that to my knowledge is no longer made.
