For those running the Bassani cat backs........

Do you get alot of noise in the cab from this system? Im torn between it and just installing a magnaflow. $650 is alot to drop on the Bassani, but they sure sound good. Im also playing with the idea of changing my 2# lower to a 4#, but with the upper I already have, that would be 5#'s! I want the Bassani, but I can get more power with the 4# pulley for the same $$$!! DAMN..... what to do?.................

Question

Well, I can try to help...I do not have the Bassani. I have the Magnaflow, but it is not installed yet. I just cannot part with $600-$700 just for sound. However, I DO have the 4# lower pulley, and I love it! Very good bang for the buck mod (dropped my ets 3 tenths and gained over 3 mph).

I guess it all depends on what you want and what it more important to you. Do you want to go fast or sound good going? Then...if you have the money, do both!

OR, you can buy my exhaust system and shave at least 3/10ths off and have the bad a$$ sound too. Mine has the Magnaflow muffler and no cats. I e-mailed you.

Skank Dog,

I ordered the Magnaflow #14568. I don't think I could stand the droning roar sound in the cab that the Bassani gives off. And I really don't want any system that is loud ALL the time. The Magnaflow only gets loud when you nail the throttle.

At least that's what Mike Troyer at Performance Products told me. I sure hope he's a straight shooter!

I have the bassani cat-back exhaust and absolutely love em. Contrary to popular belief, they are not obnoxiously loud in the cab. In fact, they only roar when you stand on it. The rumble and vibrations of power felt underneath the seat brings a smile to my face everytime I rollout. Id say it is the best mod to date. Just wished exhaust mod would give extra hp for these trucks.

Question

How much louder than stock is the bassani catback at idle. I am considering buying one but I dont want to wake my neighbors every morning.

I put my Bassani cat-back on last weekend. They are noticably louder in the cab when you are in it, and at certain rpm's (about 2000) due to resonance, but at idle they are as quiet as stock I think. In my opinion, they are not loud enough! Nowhere near some of the goobers driving jacked up 4WD's with glass packs. I thought straight cats were not too loud when I started it up during installation.
BTW Borla also makes a cat-back, you can get em in Jegs and Summit for $400-500...I can't remember, but one is a lot cheaper than the other. I've heard Borla is a little quieter, but I've never heard it.
