45k miles on my L, Lots of mods and driven pretty hard. The following have broke:

1. 3 Intercoolers--all covered by ford (they finally smartened up on the last IC and put the 01 intake and Ic in.
2. 3 sets of break pads and 1 set of rotors (need my 3rd set of rotors soon)
3. 1 gear selector tip (by overdrive button)

I must honestly say that this engine has held up very well and shows no signes of breaking any time soon. Knock on wood

 

33K on my 99 and one time, i was putting carbon fiber on my dash and the truck flintched just a little, causing a poor fit-up, but i was able to man handle it into position. other than that, no problems

 

1. Leaky power steering pressure line(to be replaced next week)
2. cracked fog light(next week)
3. trans acts funny from time to time
4. vibrated like hell(ECM wasn't plugged in all the way)
5. passenger side window track had to be greased

4100 miles bone stock

 

The ONLY problem I have had is getting traction with the F1's

 

the first one was replaced cause the bar was cutting through the padding in the left side of the drivers seat. Second time was because the place that installed the sound deadening material messed up the rack on the seat and my dealer was so nice they replaced...thinking they did it when they fixed the seat the first time. The third time i switched dealers cause of the SVTOA club and they replaced it cause it didnt sit right to the service advisor, lol

Oh yeah, i also had a cracked lens and one set of brake pads and should soon be on my third set of F1s

I had a black 99 lightning and it went 19,000 hard miles and the only broken parts were a drivers window regulator (window skipped) 2. a radio ( volume button sticked) and 3. taligate handle broke. I traded in for a red 2001 for the lower rated and color change. My 01 has 5 k on it and have had no problems so far. I am a tech a ford dealer and we very rarely see lightnings in for service. dont think just buy it !!lol good luck

 

Just the usual- intercooler, motor, supercharger, 3 trannies, cracked fog lamps, sliding A-arm - nothing at all out of the ordinary.
