won't believe it till i see it. Ford said Lightning production started last week and you won't see any at dealers till mid feb 2002 earliest. P.S. I really love that yellow!!!!

 

Was that your ford dealer? because SVT has a different story - I called them direct.

 

That came straight from svt , and there are posts here on the board to back it up. Don't know what story your getting. There has been lots of rumors. To be honest, I could care less because i wouldn't trade mine just to get blue paint, locking lugs, and a keyless entry pad. My dad on the other hand...... let's just say i'm expecting him to show up in one out of no where around earley summer!!! The dealers are saying they aren't getting them untill march earliest. I don't think they would lie a say they were getting them later than they really are, would be the other way around i suspect.

 

There are Lightnings all over the place at the plant. Started building them last week and blue looks great! I tried to take pics but they didn't turn out. Need a new digital camera.

 

my local ford svt dealer says they will be in by the end of december.i wont believe it till i see it but no dealer that i have talked to is saying march.even svt, yes the 1-800 help line says by end of december. we'll just have to wait and see

If they haven't started production yet, what BadA**Bolt may have seen are pre production test vehicals. Ford allways makes a few test trucks to make sure all the bugs are worked out.

 

Fowl, if you dont mind me asking - what dealer are you using? It seems hard to find a good one in Miami...

I went to a SVT dealer this morning, and they said '02 Lightning will be delivered by either end of November or early December. I have no reason to doubt them. I may trade in my '01 F150 Harley for '02 L then, and wait for '03 (possibly joint anniversary edition) F150 Harley...

 

two dealers here said they won't have shipment till mid february. After this week, i don't have much faith in them anyhow!! I hope they are out earlier. I'd like to see them in real life. Sick of the paintshop pics!!! Didn't mean to sound like mr. negative before. I hope they are out asap for you guys that have ordered them. If it's gonna be your first L........get a feel for it for a few minutes(can't wait more than that to floor it). If pics are taken, post em up.

 

All right already. I will take pics and post them early next week. They are definately not pre production trucks way too many of them. Any particular pics requested? All you nay sayers will have to bite your lips

I was at an SVT dealer yesterday and they told me they are getting a True Blue early next month, I'm having them call me as soon as it arrives.

Set to Begin
2002 Lightning production will begin this month. What's new for 2002? True Blue has been added to the color palette, a keyless entry keypad has been added to the driver's door handle, and locking lug nuts have been added as a standard feature. Look for the first 2002 Lightnings to arrive in dealer showrooms by the end of the month.
