FRPP Question- Paging Bob Tompkins

I got my FRPP lowering kit yesterday, and am having it installed tomorrow. I'm wondering how your alignment went and whether or not you had to supply them with custom specifications.

If anyone else has this kit installed, and has any thoughts, please feel free to respond. Thanks.

Don't want to start anything but wanted to let you know his account was suspended. You may look at the message below:

I thought that too, but I came across this thread from last night at 9:30PM. I figured he was back on.

I had the kit installed today. I took it to the ford dealer for alignment and gave them the specs for the Lightning off the board. They handed me a sheet when they were done, but the specs look more like a standard F150. It seems to handle well though.

Don't forget to get the cam bolts for both sides.

Found This

I found this on a search. (Search wasn't working for me earlier). I don't know if the specs change after the kit is installed or not. I'll take them along though. Hope this helps.

Thanks Bob

I had mine installed on Friday, and they used the NAPA bolts as well. Looks and handles great- although my steering feels a little looser. Anyone else notice this? It's going back on Thursday to have the alignment rechecked, I'll have them look at the loose steering as well.

Just got back from getting my alignment. She was perfectly tuned to the Ford's specs. I contacted Ground Force and they confirmed that the Ford specs are to be used with their spring kit.

Are the cam bolts necessary? I've been told that they aren't, but almost all of you are using them?

Crued:

I was confused about the NAPA cam bolts as well- some guys seemed to be using them, some didn't. I figured for $10 each I'd buy'em and let the alignment shop that did the install decide if they needed them or not.

They used them, but I have to say they were not happy with the design. Something about a washer being located on either side of the bolt making it very hard to tighten down properly. I'm taking my '01 back later this week to have the alignment rechecked and make sure the bolts haven't worked their way loose.
