Looking for a exhaust .wav on a L>>>>

Guys,

I have been researching the hell out of what mufflers / cat-back i should get for my 01L but all i have become is more unsure. I have made promise to myself that i would do things over and over again with this truck. I spent nearly 5k more then i would have if i made the correct decisions when I had my cobra, so i dont want to do that again.

I keep hearing about the infamous "Bassani Cat Back" and how great it sounds. I am flowmaster kind of guy and i can not stand the standard "glass pack" sound that i hear so often on many of the trucks around here. I want a deep throaty sound like my two chamber flows i had on my cobra without the extreme loudness or drown i had with them.

I really want to make the right decision here so if anybody can point me in the direction of a decent .wav file of that system or some flowmasters I would be grateful.

Bob

Thanks,
Bob

Bob, I have heard all the popular mufflers on these trucks, and hands down the Bassani is the best sounding. The Flowmasters sound like crap on these trucks compared to how they sound on Mustangs. I do share your feelings for them too, I had the Flows on our 95 Lightning and loved them. Another nice thing about the Bassani, is the cat back system is all stainless, it comes with the "X" section, and the tips are SWEET polished 3.5" stainless steel, and look way better than stock, plus are much easier to clean. We sell the Bassani, so if you want it, let me know. And I'm not pushing the Bassani just because I sell it. Ask anyone here and it's no big secret that I usually talk guys out of laying out $1700 for the entire Bassani full system if they are looking for a power increase.

Sal,

Do you have the cat-backs in stock???

If so e-mail me with pricing and shipping info, does the system need to welded up by a muffler shop or can i do it at the dealership where i work???

Bob T. If you install the cat-back system, would like to hear how you like the system, sound, etc. Thanks

Cool

Beefcakes' system is the Magnaflow Magnapacks (glasspacks). Here's a couple of links.

Personally, I like my straight pipes until I can raise the money for long tube headers, and the bassani system.

Thanks man but that sound does not "DO IT" for me at all. I really love the flowmaster crackel and bark.

Hrmmm

Straight pipes rule, as far as sound goes. The only reason I put the muffler back on was to race at the NMRA event. It is loud with just the straight pipes and scares pedestrians if you give it some gas as you pass them! This will probably attact police also. Beware!
I don't have a sound file on my straight pipes, but you could just disconnect the stock muffler and get an idea of how loud it is.
I may have lost some low end but I can't feel it. The bends are not great. I wish a company would make something like this mandrel bends and no mufflers.

I had Flowmaster 40 series 2 chambers on my truck and was not happy with them. I just put Dynomax "bullits" on it and I could not believe the difference it made! The truck sounds Awesome and it gave me alot more low end. The best part is the price. The bullits only cost 32.00 a piece. The Truck is pretty loud, nearly twice as loud as the Flowmasters.

sound... of your straight pipes...
Straight pipes don't sound very good. They're just loud.

Sorry, no wav. file of my exhuast. I think the only sound I had of it on the internet was of me doing a minute long burnout for some contest. But I believe that video has been removed...I'll try looking for it.

I have a hard enough time trying not to attract the police. I think I'll leave the straight pipes to others
