Hello, I need help - I think I am almost to the point of making the good move many of you have and buying a Lightning using the X-Plan scheme...But I have a few questions, those who can be of assistance, I greatly appreciate it...

1) - Is X-Plan available even if you are going to export the vehicle?

2) - a) Do all dealers honor X-Plan?
b) And if so can they not give me X-Plan on the L?

3) - Does the X-Plan work if I pay cash? and not use financing?

4) - What is the X-Plan price for the 2001's?

1) I doubt they care what you do with it once you pay for it...x-plan or not. But you not being a resident of US or Canada might keep you out of x-plan. Better find that out first.

2)a) no, their choice b)some do, some don't, their choice

3)yes, has nothing to do with financing

4)call some dealers....around $29,000 US I would guess

Here is the price structure (Dealer Price which is A-Plan and Dealer Invoice) for an '02 Lightning. To get X-Plan just add 4% to Dealer Price (A-Plan). It's all explained in the link.

X-Plan is just a plan offered by some dealers through Ford that allows you to purchase a Ford vehicle at significantly reduced prices. For instance, you are able to buy a Lightning for $28,900 under this plan. Follow my link above so you can see the price breakdown on the upcoming '02 Lightnings.

If you want to buy a Ford or Ford owned company's vehicle and get X-Plan then sign up here w/ EAA for $40. You'll receive a membership w/in a few days and be eligible for 2 X-Plan pins a year. Then call dealers in your area (or wherever) and ask them if they honor the X-Plan.

Hurry, any memberships after Dec. 1, 2001 require at least 1 year of participation before becoming eligible for X-Plan status.
