Cool

I'll be 19 in 25 days. Yes, I pay the payments, and I go to college.
Only 700 miles on it. This truck is everything and more of what I expected. I had a 1999 f-150 v-6 before, what a difference.

Thumbs up

Got my truck as a High School Graduation present.
Pop says if I go to college, he'll buy me a house.

I told him, "No way, Pop! I'm done with school."
"and besides, I'm 46, you're 65, I'll get your house soon enough."

I missed the Eighties, stuck in the 10th grade.

Cool

I can't remember if I posted to this thread before; is that because I'm 50?

i have heard alot about the roadrunners, how did they run?
I guess the 64 Ply. wedge was it. I honestly bought it from a 62 year old woman just outside Chicago back in 1970. I knew from having the Hemi Roadrunner that it had to be fast. I'm sure you now that they both had the 426 C.I. engine, but the 64 had the wedge heads & not the Hemi heads. The best part of owning it, was that it looked so "every day car" till someone pulled along side and wanted to race. That thing would knock your fillings out of your mouth. I took many a Z/28 and GTO's of the day with it. Still not sure what that old lady wanted with a car like that. It even came with a facory 4 spd. paid $700.00 for it. Engine let go and I sold it. About the Road Runner. For less than $3000.00, you could have a new one off the lot in '68. It was nothing but a heavy duty car with the same set-up as a taxi or police car of that time. Of course it had a grest engine. It was the HiPo 383 with a mild cam and dual ponts. I believe it had a Thurmo-quad carb by Carter. Bigger valves and bigger exhaust. Heavy springs. I remember it had a lever just under the dash which said (carb air). You could pull it and it would open the cowl induction on top of the hood. Like ram air. As long as you were going in a streight line, it was great. It made turns like sh*t. If I could find another one today in real good shape. I'd like to get it. Forget the Hemi's, they are out of site in prices... After 72 or so, the Road Runner was just a trim package and nothing else. EPA killed all the fun cars......Gary

37 here. I always wanted a ride like this, (2001 L) but wants kept getting replaced by needs ( mortgages, etc.) until recently. Delayed gratification feels really good once you get there.
BTW, I still have my first car. It's a 1979 Camaro that's in the process of getting totally restored with a few mods for good measure. It's really a POS but I can't stand to part with it. There's something to be said for sentimental value
